It did. But the prinnies (and Etna's treatment of them) will always be the main appeal of Disgaea to me.
Dood.
I laugh in the face of pretention and dogmatism!
Ah-haha! Ha! Haha-haha!
And as far as calling other people casual, this is a JRPG. Since some of the first games made in Japan were visual novels, JRPGs tend to be heavy on dialogue and cutscenes. If you just focus on completing the game, half of it is a static VN. I don't see any rogue-like permadeath or danmaku style bosses or any benefit to having especially good reflexes. There isn't even a competative leaderboard or PvP combat. People who want this kind of game want something casual. And if you really want to talk down to people for being casual, at least put Battletoads in your NES or SEGA Genesis and beat the Dark Queen without using any of the hidden warps or cheats. Battletoads is a part of my childhood that will make Dark Souls fanboys cry.
Better idea. Pick up Vulture for Nethack off of Steam and try to Ascend legitimately without using something like Discovery Mode or Wizard Mode. A game does not need to require twitch reflexes to be aggonizingly hardcore.
And for those that don't know, Nethack is the direct descendent of Rogue, even to the point of using the same underlying combat equations, as well as the storyline lore like the Amulet of Yendor as the primary objective. All those rogue-likes? This is where they came from.
Maybe people just want to be completely braindead and just have fun about something they have no idea about.
I bet they don't even know about the two enemies that represents xbox fanboys and nintendo fanboys and think they're just some kind of silly monsters.
Or about the name puns of the characters that makes fun of fanboys.
Or about the quest descriptions that parodies anime and games and internet cultures.
:^)
You're right! And you know what?
I'm doing it because I love you. See...I know that you're a bitter and unhappy person, and the only way that you'll ever feel even a semblance of happines is to find someone that you can feel "better" than.
Thing is...since your mind operates on such a low level of "life", I do have to make myself literally brain dead to be worse than you...if only just barely.
You're really making it difficult, you know!
But it's a sacrifice I will make! After all, even insecure, self-absorbed, bitter and generally undesirable people like you deserve to feel happy now and then.
So please, go on. Keep bashing me. Keep feeling superior. Keep trolling. Because, once you leave that screen, once you walk into that thing called "life"....it's all dog-eat-dog. Nobody cares about you. Nobody gives a damn how you feel. You only have yourself to rely on.
So enjoy this while it lasts, because, when the push comes to shove, I will be there. And I will haunt you.
*AHEM*
Awesome; test successful, this is totally going into my novel.
(I always wanted to do this)
...it does, just to prove you wrong. Indeed.
But it's the internet you know? It's a platform for everyone, and history teaches us that those who have nothing to say always talk the most.
You're a special kid anyways.
Indeed, I'm so special I go to SPECIAL classes. So yeah, go stick your ORDINARY classes somewhere, cause I'M DA BOMB!
You know...you can't win this. I'm willing to bet money I've been doing this kind of forum shenanigans for longer than you've been alive (which, incidentally, makes me go "Holy ♥♥♥♥, it's that long since those years already?")
There's NOTHING you can throw at me that would faze me. So go on. Keep trying. I'll feed on your feeble attempts to become relevant.
(Except when I need my beauty sleep. Guess I'll have to allow you free reign then. Sleep is important and all.)
Just as the game has the option to change the vocal track, I think it needs to options to change the translation track as well, between the modified 'dubtitle' track and a literal translation. It's not like anyone playing a game like this is going to be greatly confused by Japanisms (this isn't exactly a mainstream game...)
I wonder if enough people would care enough to do such a thing.
Maybe fans will hack the game to make it modable, and then do a proper translation, I notice fan translations tend to be better than offical ones, since they leave all the orignal jokes in, sometimes add annoitations explaining them (seen a few fan visual novel translations do this when the joke comes up).
But yeah, for the most part alot of stuff is lost in translation, its especally bad in the neptunia games because alot of the inside jokes aren't translated or if they are, are completly diffrent. Which is silly when this game bascally targets fans of japanese games and such.
