Balance of characters
so far i must say whenever i fight an enemy boss or not boss, it can be seen easily that peashy and plutia do way more dmg than any regular char (i'm at chapter 4 right now)

neptune 49 320 dmg
plutia 49 1100 dmg
blanc 42 260 dmg

when using their best power attack against killachine mk3

peashy sometimes also did such dmg or even more, i would like to hear if it is like i thought a bug somewhere in their stats or not, since with this not many ppl might use the other cpus or makers.

Well Peashy has ridiculous strength and Plutia uses magic attacks so some of her attacks aren't calculated against the enemies physical defense.

Well firstly, before you just blindly list off damage numbers, what kinds of attacks are those representing? Different types of attacks are meant to do different ammounts of damage, and sometimes you might forget to keep characters' combos up to date.

Otherwise though, well, Blanc is a significant number of levels behind, but why don't you look at Neptune and Plutia's stats directly and see how they compare?

i use the strongest power one not elemental based so costs 40 or 50 each.

you complain now, and i must do screenshots for you so you see the point, kay.

a break attack is used to be not as strong as a power attack too, yet also there plutia does more damage with it, will post screenshots later.

so ye appears it is a int attack even, yet on other bosses it was not different and they were not so phys defensive ones.

Gear and items play a huge role in dmg so unless they are all the same level, have the same tier weapons/armor, and use the same kind of attack (int-based/str-based) then you can't really compare.

I would just not use DLC characters until well-into the game.

Honestly, its nice that you are given the 2 new characters early on so you feel like you get the most out of them.....but Plutia is pretty much a plug in replacement for Compa (at least until Compa get AoE healing) and Peashy is just a stat monster.
CruelN1N1 Feb 3, 2015 @ 8:41pm
Well early game dlc are broken, idk if mid or end game will be like that but for now dlc are OP
Ryofu Housen Feb 3, 2015 @ 9:26pm
aren't it common if dlc character is OP? just don't use it if you feel too OP atleast that's for me... maybe I'll use them in late game... Peashy and Plutia has ridiculous Strength in early level, maybe because of their starting weapon have different tier with non DLC char, and they has HDD mode which is effectively replace compa and IF in early level...
MrPenguin Feb 3, 2015 @ 9:39pm
Yeah, once you hit the later half though they scale back significantly. It didn't take very long for my plutia to fall behind.

Plutia was great as source of damage and healing mid-game...but got replaced by either Compa's late game healing or MAGES. who pretty much does what Plutia is but with much better damage output with great AoE.

Peashy is a one trick pony. Monster stats that can hit VERY hard...but lacks any real AoE and is only good against a single target. While she's great for bosses...she lacks against mobs.

^Pretty much this.

I replaced Plutia with Histoire. Better healing (due to AoE rather than power of the heal) and her damage is BROKEN lol.

afaik machine type monsters are strong againts physical attack and weak againts magical attack, and some of them got minus thunder affinity.
another case is plant type monster, they are strong againts magical, but weak againts physical and fire.

so for example let's say if you place neptune and plutia(some of hers are thunder based right?) againts killachine, plutia will do more damage with both her neutral and thunder magic attack.
this is done with her thunder affinity at 0.

where is this statement based from ? the answer is experiment. plutia isn't the only magic based, you got vert and more later which got their own special affinity.
you got to try yourself with each of them.

===================

last but not least, all the statements above are not absolute !
some of machine type monster got high thunder affinity, but still weak againts magic and other affinity.

*PS : i'm on chapter 5 and monsters here are tanky, even with lvl 110 party (ie : naasne volcano)

same like me :). i just use plutia because compa just sux for damage....... but i try to have the same damage than the normal heroines.

for example i a buy 2 weapons to plutia one strongh one less strongh i buyed the second one :).
however the life accesory makes the game easy no matter if you use the DLC characters.

Histoire - start round buff entire party, Vert maintain EX guage, and then whoever else for utility/tanking.

2nd round Histoire EX ability decimation, Vert maintain EX guage level, the 3rd person throw out big hits.

rinse repeat.

Histoire is insane, especially with break dmg limit. Even without it she is head and shoulders above most of the girls

Most enemies and bosses take far more damage from magic attacks than physical ones (mostly because a lot of the bosses you fight are machines), particularly if you hit them with an element they are weak to, so Plutia and MAGES both generally hit harder than physical attackers. Peashy is just generally a glass cannon, hits like a truck against enemies that don't have sky high physical defence but takes a lot of damage.

You mentioned Blanc as well, despite her attack stat looking great she's a tank and EXE meter builder, she doesn't do much damage at all.
