Install the VC++ 2012 runtime. The 32-bit version. (A 64-bit OS also needs the 32-bit version; what matters is how the application was compiled, not what OS it is run on. And this game was compiled as 32-bit.)

It's the bitness of the program that matters, not that of the OS.
The game was compiled as 32-bit code, so you need the 32-bit version of the runtime library.

You should just install it. It puts the files in the proper locations on your computer, not in the game folder.
