Japanese Text?

Any chance of getting Japanese text in addition to audio? As a Japanese student this would be really great. Thanks.

Unlikely. There's licensing issues involved. And if recent comments from Nihon Falcom ring true for the industry as a whole, most Japanese publishers won't provide full Japanese localisation as they believe it will not sell, even if they made it available in Japan too. So simply put, they see no profit in it so won't even try, regardless of how many people around the world state they want full Japanese localisation.

You're pretty wrong. My friends/JP friends are playing this game in Japanese (text/audio) and even showed screenshots. (Also I can do it easily) That also applies to most games made by Japanese developers on Steam. You just have to set your system language to Japanese through some methods.

Just tried it, it didn't work. Only thing I can think is maybe your friends have a Japanese Steam account (if there is such a thing) and purchased a different copy of the game?

There is no Japanese language version of the game available on PC. We can only buy the same version you can.

Wow, I actually understood about 90% of that tweet. I think my Japanese must be getting better, lol.

Thanks for the reply. Here's hoping they add Japanese text in the near future. Sounds like there's some not very happy people in Japan too.

I'd love to see Nihongoban on Steam, too. What would have been an instant purchase is now leaving me sitting on the fence, and it's not comfy in there. It's a shame when publishers don't put the original language in their Steam releases, especially in games like Neptunia where you just know that some jokes and appeal will be lost in the translation.

In English, the game is not fun for me. I will continue on PS.
