[FIXED] Buggy video cutscene problem? Fix here
The latest Neptunia update no longer has LAV Splitter from codec packs interfere with Neptunia. You can flip on AVI back on in the LAV Splitter and such.

--------------deprecated---------------
This is usually because of codec packs like CCCP and KCP.

If using CCCP and it's FFDshow codecs, make sure the video and audio section of FFDshow excludes the Neptunia executable.

If using KCP, go into KCP Settings where you installed the KCP pack. Click LAV Splitter, uncheck AVI.

I unticked .mp4 files in CCCP LAV Splitter Settings and it stopped skipping.

Downloaded KCP and disabled avi. Works now, so let's hope that's all my problems lmao.

I use Zoom Player that I bought on Steam and I have the same video skipping problem. But this can be fixed using the same method used with KCP.

If you use Zoom Player (Steam or retail version) and you have LAV Filters installed through "Zoom Player Install Center", all you need to do is -

  1. Go to Start Menu -> LAV Filters -> LAV Splitter Configuration.
  2. Click "Input Formats" tab.
  3. Uncheck avi format. Click OK and enjoy the game.

Okay where do I find the codecs?

Unfortunately, I don't know where FFDshow codecs are installed. KCP is usually in Program Files\KCP.

Thanks! Worked as described.

This NEEDS to be pinned. This is a common problem and it always deals with thrid party codec packs. Most games design themselves around built-in system codecs, third party usually has unusual results like this.

Wait CCCP affects the in-game cutscenes? that's news to me
Scrubp Jan 29, 2015 @ 4:57pm
Yo, thanks for the tip! Cutscenes started working for me. Thanks man

KCP user here

What you said worked like a charm. Many tanks.

Thanks for the information.

I'm curious about why KCP would cause a conflict, but it's good to know it's an easy fix.

I'm not sure where any of these are. I don't see any file that says KCP in my Program Files.
MorningSTAR-αΩ Jan 29, 2015 @ 5:03pm
Okay so does this mena that this isn;t an issule fro people without CCCP or KCP?
Achiel Jan 29, 2015 @ 5:06pm
Yeah, those who don't use CCCP or KCP shouldn't be affected.
Alucard Jan 29, 2015 @ 5:06pm
My cutscenes keep skipping automatically on their own. It starts during the bootup and skips all the company logos first. That's my issue. Not sure if this is the same problem.

That is the same issue, have you installed any kind of codec pack or rememeber doing so?
Watt Jan 29, 2015 @ 5:07pm
For some reason the cutscenes are opening in a seperate window for me. Wat do?
EclairHolystone Jan 29, 2015 @ 5:08pm
Oooh, so it's possible to skip the company logos if we wanted to? That agonizingly long startup time was a huge reason why I just kept the game on standby on the Vita.
