Personally starting out I had trouble beating that dragon till I was like lvl 25 with life rings, but that was because I was still getting a handle on the game as a whole.
I'm at level 14 at the moment with all 6 characters. I plan on trying the first boss in the second area when my characters are level 15. I have life rings on all 3.
Honestly I say go for it! Save before hand of course.
In my experance with the game, wheres the 2 DLC characters are powerful, they are honestly as strong as the other CPUs and I found by the end of the game party config came down to preferance of who you wanted to see beating stuff up.
But before I go grinding, where should I grind? I've used the Plans for adding Mechtro Factory and Zeca Ruins.
The whale gives a large amount of EXP if you can kill it and is useful even for end of chapter 2 grinding if you need it. (I used it to go from lvl 20-35 I beleive it was))
Thanks for the tips.
I tried to fight some giant character, but it nearly destroyed the group and they had to flee it. It was after the area was made harder.
Thanks for the input.
