Controls dont respond

I bought the game to play on steam deck but the controls don do anything its like its unplugged...i tried all the possible controller settings nothing works

is this normal or should i just refund for unplayable

try hooking up a keyboard first, then go into the Config screen and check the Devices tab. If it's still on "Keyboard", you need to switch it first. Steam Input should be emulating a 360 controller, so that's what you should find and see.

On Steam Deck, in the Steam menu, change the controller configuration to keyboard and mouse, have some keys bound to Enter and Escape, and the arrow keys. Then you can do as suggested above and go to config, controls, and switch from keyboard to Xbox.

So I'm on desktop and I had a similar issue. I feel real dumb, but just in-case you're as dumb as me:

Under Config on the main menu, make sure the "Device Select" section is not set to keyboard. I have an option for an Xbox 360 controller (I'm using an 8bitdo Xbox Series gamepad).

On Steamdeck you should be able to use the touch screen like a mouse. But if it's not working, then temporarily switch your controls over to use the arrow keys and enter (and esc for back). You can do this from the "Steam" button, under the Controller menu. It's a little complicated to explain here. But hopefully just the touchscreen works.

I haven't tested this game on Steamdeck yet but there might be a similar option for you.

And if you already knew to do that please do not take offense. I didn't see it the first ten times I tried launching the game and troubleshooting the issue lol. I kept just looking at Control Remap and not reading the Device tab to the left.

Thanks I was really puzzled how to play it after change my controller (my old one broke).
