Free upgrade for those who bought the game + all DLC which is fair in my opinion for a game that consists of heavily recycled content anyways. Discount for those who just bought the game and few DLC as I doubt any existing owners would throw down any money for this game AGAIN besides the shills.
It's been reported that game was remade from scratch on the OROCHI 4 And Mizuchi Rendering Engine like VIIR instead of the PhyreEngine.
Also, thanks a lot for the explanation.
It isn't very valid to compare Neptunia to Disgaea. Idea Factory have ported many of their games to PC. For instance, Megadimension Neptunia VII came out on PS4 in the US on Febuary 2016, and it came out on PC in July 2016. Additionally, Azure Lane Crosswave came out in the US for both PC and PS4 in the same month.
And I'd also like to add that we are all still waiting for Half Life 3
My biggest issue with VII was that it was so easy. Though, I had a long list of issues with it, I still love the game. But VIIR made it even worse. instead of fixing bugs and rebalancing things that needed it, they yeeted quite some promising things and remade it to be worse. It was a snooze fest and I gave up at Noire's arc because it got so boring.
It would have made more sense to fix the existing issues (which they hardly ever seem to do, thats a big problem) with bugs and DLC things messing up, broken rush attacks etc and to add VR as DLC. I hear the new construction system was good but I didnt get that far so Idk. That could maybe have been DLC, too.
So I think that for ReReReReReRebirth 1 aka ReVerse it would be preferable to get an upgrade package thats sold as a DLC instead of the full game. That said, if it is indeed a remake on a new engine, then I dont think that will happen. And since I really want a physical limited edition for all Steam version core games (as in the past they only did LE for PS4 versions, sadly, only recently have they started doing it for Steam too), I do kinda want it to be sold as new full game, with LE for Steam. I'd buy.
I think that if we want to see this version on Steam, whatever form it will be in, we should send a ticket to support and suggest a steam port for ReVerse. I did. There seem to be no plans (yet), but they said they'll take the fact that there might be people who want it into consideration.
