The Forever Winter

enemies keep spawning behind me after i clear an area
i have been clearing an area slowly and then as soon as i get ready to move onto the next area 2-4 enemies randomly spawn 30ft behind me in a bunch.

I'm having the same issue but I will get 6-10 enemies that spawn behind or next to me after I engage a squad finishing me off the second I turn and face them

are you finding any resolution? i did file verification and restarted the game?

The enemy spawn system is still broken. There is no solution other than waiting for patches from the developers. The only thing you can do for now is not to stand at the spawn points of enemy units (you remember where they are pretty quickly).

Of course, I would like to see the spawn system changed, placing spawn points outside the map, or in some kind of conditional "bunkers" from which enemies would come out, but which the player could not enter himself. Preferably with animation and sound of a door opening or something similar, so that the player has time to react to enemy reinforcements.
Move slower, bring a Tac Cam, and a full auto shotgun. This is all we can do to adapt until bugfixes solve this problem.

Sure a p in the a.. - Should be more realistic. Like a rapid response drop or something.

Has the developer communicated anything about this issue? I can't find anything. This particular problem seems to be the most common complaint about the game currently, but the devs seem to be dodging questions about it. Its very strange, they could at least make a post where they acknowledge that the problem exists.

Its the main thing holding me back from buying the game. I know its early access and that features will be missing, buggy or incomplete. But the complete silence from the devs regarding this particular issue is worrying.

The developers have gone into almost complete silence. This is not very good, but this option may also make sense. I mean, outside of the option that the game was simply abandoned after the players left. Perhaps silence is not the worst option, if they are not ready to guarantee the fulfillment of some promises that the players would "beg" from them. Like, they seemed to say that there would be a big patch before the end of the year. All that remains is to wait. Will it be or not ^^

But even if the game has already been abandoned (I hope not). There are still about 100 hours of content here. This is a good option for that kind of money. Not only is 100 hours quite a lot, but the gaming experience itself is almost unique... it's worth it, I think.

wow your getting them behind you? me and my friend have had enemies spawn around us in a nice circle and instantly one shot us both.....we hadnt even fired a shot the round. also wasnt the last two updates litterally on the 1st and 5th of this month? its been 15 days since they said anything on steam. im 90% sure. most game devs take longer then that..saying its abandoned after 15 days is pretty wild....you doing ok?

? i dont get it ? is it not suppoused to be like this? to make you feel like a weak civ on battlefield? there is nothing you can realy clear on an ever evolving battlefield.

pick you fights and gather you stuff... then get the fudge out! l

Might be a while. About a month ago they put out a hiring call on their linkedin page for an AI Lead and a Tech Lead.

They have no idea how to build the systems they want to employ, and that's why it's such a mess. It's like they didn't even test the new spawn system.

I'm having this problem. Any info? I killed like 50 ships but they just keep spawning even when i try to get away. Very frusfurating.

Ships? Unless you are near an edge of the map spawn location they shouldn't spawn on top of you anymore. Even the map edges won't spawn as much once you kill them so long as you stay near it.

If you're still having this problem it's because you don't know the maps well enough. Once you've done enough runs of any map you should be instinctively learning the spawn locations and avoiding them. Pretty sure the spawn locations are static still however the spawns themselves are dynamic. Eventually you start to learn this pattern too.

Unsure if intentional. I doubt it. They've been working on a different system to manage spawns behind the scenes but it will be rolled out as an entire package once complete so I doubt the current system will see many changes until then.
They're working on it. Used to be A LOT worse a handful of months ago. Stay mobile, don't get bogged down in firefights for more than a couple minutes.
