The Forever Winter

The Forever Winter

Bagman turned out to be a cyborg ?
Yeah I just finally checked his arms out and it's look like a cyborg's arms and got a tatoo stating it's Cossack, so he could be probably used to be from Eruskan Faction some point in his life.

That explains why he is able to do heavy lifting and also proficiency with heavy weapons.

What do you guys / girls think ?

I figured he lost a limb or two and replaced them with cyborg parts, but I do like the idea of a cyborg regaining control somehow and escaping to the Innards.
Did you consider that in a universe where there are full body replacement cyborgs, mechs, and 30 foot tall Japanese license built organ harvesters, that maybe, prosthesis has had some slight development in contrast to the modern day?

Aren't they all augmented to some degree?

There was some quest text: the one where you kill 15 soldiers - where the NPC refers to the player (disparagingly) as a "non-aug" Does that change for the Bagman?

(high-priority bug reports here but wth)

Well I just found out that he got a right arm that had that cyborg aesthetic and tattoo , cyborg arms are made with durable metal and the tattoo seems well made. Yes that is possible that he only lost his right arm and got it replaced.

The old man I think he got his left hand replaced with a cybernetic. for the rest, I don't know.

Well wished we can start off as a full meat then have to visit a certain 'chop shop doctor' oh maybe the 'secret' Eruskan cyberdoc or Eurasian Cyberdoc and get our body slowly turned into one ?

That is one possibility.

I haven't done that quest yet, is it repeatable ? I will keep an eye out and take a good look at the text when the quest is finished.

If you like this idea, you should read "Murderbot" by Martha Wells. It isn't the war torn setting of Forever Winter, but it is all first person from the point of view of a sec-unit (security robot with meat brain parts). Lots of snark.

I believe so. Old man has the robot arm/hand, Scav Girl has wires and implants all along her arms and some in her face, mask man is hard to tell but I imagine he is connected to his mask somehow (especially with the text on one of his masks saying "don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ remove"), Shaman it's kinda hard to tell but I wouldn't be surprised if his goggle things were implanted in his head, and Bag Man doesn't look like he has any part of him that hasn't been augmented to some degree--though it's most noticeable with his arms, his head also has implants and his eyes don't look organic to me.

I imagine that the augments that the player characters have are considered very primitive by the Eurasians and Euruskians, especially when you look at their augmented soldiers or heavier duty units. They're all either sleek or heavily armoured and their augments look very much like a part of them, compared to the very obvious non-organic pieces that Scav Girl and Old Man have. The dialogue doesn't change when playing as Bag Man but out of all the player characters he definitely has the highest quality augments for sure.

That would be a good game mechanic

being augmented by a faction increases their tolerance... but if they are struggling in the battle they might e-conscript you, causing you to temporarily lose control of the character while he grabs the nearest buhanka van/golf buggy/bicycle and runs at the enemy
