why make a valid argument when you can strawman everything?
I remember that Fun Dogs said such things about skins. But imo to be releasing skins on a game that is not even close to done is another example of the problem with early access games. I respect your opinion and Ive also said the same thing in the past that people dont work for free. As you can see in my profile Ive played the game a good amount and certainly gotten my monies worth. In the end the pattern The Fun Dogs are following at this point does not give me any confidence! I also dont agree with your point about regular updates. The updates thus far are meh imo and I also was one that defended the water system and I understand the hate people threw about the water system may have thrown Fun Dogs off but imo I would have doubled down on water releasing things revolving around water! My expectations are very low actually as you can see in my profile the other early access games Ive played and the time spent. But I just dont see the progress so im doing what I promised other people at the time that I would be honest. And I will eat my humble pie as I dont think Fun Dogs Are making any real progress! sorry and I do respect your opinion!
I have been very critical of the developers and their stubbornness to remove the game-killing realtime water decay system. Since they finally saw reason (and the low player count no doubt) and removed the realtime element, i have been very hopeful and supportive of the devs. Their latest announcement of skin DLC and focus on forced multiplayer content leaves a bad taste in my mouth but as has been said before, they were announced way back and to be expected. Also, and this was my main stipulation - they are cosmetic and optional. I bought them because i felt i owed it to the devs after all the mud i slang their way this whole time. As i said, faith is a two way road and they finally showed good faith by removing the water cancer. Buying it and admitting i am once again supportive and hopeful of the devs is me eating my slice of the humble pie.
I took a break from this game (and others) back in January and I've just returned. I've noticed some things. Their artists have been busy, not only making the new skins but adding detail to the innards. There's a big gas canister hanging out of the water kiosk now and a strange plushy hanging above the donation box. Probably there are other things I've missed and these polishing touches will have been added to other maps as well I'm sure. There are also far less clipping issues now.
The programming side of things is still very messy and likely to remain that way until they have rolled out major overhauls of the systems they intend to upgrade. Existing systems have been tweaked. I'm seeing a lot less posts made by people who have been completely unable to get the game to run. The downside is I've noticed some strange performance issues pop up as a result. Thankfully they are resolved by alt tabbing a few times... Whatever that's about.
But most of what I've noticed that is different is that the devs have given in to popular demands. The water system has been heavily modified, though it still needs extra detail (I still collect fertiliser, maybe I can craft my own meds someday Resident Evil style). The difficulty has been massively reduced. When I started playing I celebrated when I survived a journey from one side of the map to the other. Now... It's a relaxing stroll. Aggro meters fill more slowly. There are less spawns on the map. It is easier to break contact.
So as much as you might feel you're being ignored or pushed aside you aren't. Clearly the devs have been listening and are making an attempt to walk the balance between the game you want and the game they wanted to create. I hope they get it right.
Some changes I'm not particularly happy with (like the reduction in difficulty) but the water changes have pushed me to explore other maps and complete a wider variety of content as a result.
It's going to be expensive for them to overcome the coding issues they face. I don't think anyone can make a justified complaint that they dedicated some of their artists time toward a set of skins. Right now the art is leaps and bounds beyond where the coding is.
I've never played an early access game which died. I've played many which have never left the development phase.
Studio said from day 1 there would be DLC for skins, even in early-access.
This is why your post is a waste of space, if they started selling new weapons I could understand. Yet you have 190 hours, you know exactly what you signed up for.
The game is still being developed, as you can see there are still updates to the game unlike OTHER early-access titles such as "Hardland"
The DLC is optional, the game is industry standard $40 (Marathon and Arc Raiders are joining this genre) and it IS still being worked on.
I am completely dumbfounded at what the ♥♥♥♥ you are complaining about, I would have guessed clown award farming but you do have 190 hours so there must be credibility to your lack of understanding
