Hunter Killer Spawns
So, I'm not really here to complain or anything, however, I've had something weird show up.

I'm pretty much a cautious player, so I did very, very little killing most of the time, a few units max. I also (am pretty sure) I opened more than the 20 crates it takes to spawn Hunter Killers and yet I didn't have them show up for the first 15 hours I played this game until I did it COOP and now they're spawning every five minutes. Is there a reason why this is starting now of all times?

During the time I had with the DEMO the HK's would never spawn. I went on killing sprees, had done a lot of looting, and nothing. Purchase the game, stealth is broken. Okay, everyone knows this, moving on.

The first handful of hours I had no HK's spawn when doing my fair share of taking out units, and looting, and suddenly HK's spawn in after looting 14 - 16 supplies left by corpses.

As for Night Shift? Manage to wipe out less than 10 units, and HK's spawn in. Personally, I find it somewhat idiotic for elite units to come hunting down a Scav that is simply looting, unless breaking into anything of high value? Just seems to be a reach, and does more to annoy than cause anything else.

It is supposed to be a hard game like tarkov, except devs probably never play their own game and are never good at it, how strange.

I bought this game on this winter sale, and had to refund it because the system that punishes you by spawning enemyes behinde you or on top of you is a bad design. I think this game gona be canned in a year. Like 500 ppl playing, really ? :steambored:

Hks spawning depends on different things. How many you kill, what you pick up (like tech) and the map you are playing on. For my own feeling/taste on Ashen Mesa they tend to spawn fastest.

My first time seeing them in-game was in co-op too. But I don't really run into them solo. Definitely not like you are describing. I imagine more buggy AI quirks or you just are pissing the AI off doing something, or too high level? I'm not really sure what exact metrics it uses to spawn in stuff. It might just be random chance. I'll be doing great on a few farming runs then get slapped down out of nowhere. Or if I kill too many dudes too quick, all of a sudden there'll be a unit spawned in behind me I've never seen before.

Another thing I`m not sure about is could be if you`re new there`s no point sending hks after you. Since there`s the faction system ingame once you annoyed a faction enough they might be interested in getting rid of the "bugger". ;-)

Yeah, I absolutely understand why killing people or stealing high value stuff or even just having the faction not like me would trigger HKs, no qualms with that. But seeing the clip where the guy opens the same crate with like 3 bottles of booze, a cracker, and a random piece of 300$ intel 24 times straight to trigger them is just dumb. Like from a lore perspective, why would they send their Seal Team 6 to save their "Couples Picture" stash (we all know why there's so many of those items in the wastes).

i had a multi man hunter killer team spawn almost on top of me as gunhead and i had been in the mission about 4 minutes and had only collected about 4 days of water and a scope, was very weird.

From what I've ready up on, 4 big items usually get you in trouble. So it might have been the water.

I think hunters should only be triggered by certain missions. Like those good old Stealth games where you play carefully until you reach the goal and then all hell breaks loose and you have to run for the exit. But as it is now, if you're super careful, all hell can happen and that's just annoying. I can kill 500 hunters if I have to, that's not the problem, I just want to enjoy a mission without feeling from the start that everyone on the map is just hunting me

(Hks are recruiting units nearby is fine, but not in the first 5 minutes) ... :-/

Pretty sure that's what happened. Large items have pretty big credit values and so give you a lot of heat. Yes, including '0 credits' valued water. (Which I'm reasonably sure has a huge heat value to it. More than a Lockbox I think.)

The spawning issue definitely needs work, but large items tend to be valuable enough to get attention you do not want.:raven:

its, unironically ridiculous-
lore wise they're meant to be following a GPS tracker,
but given ive had it/them trigger from picking up freaking AMMO...
During the demo I had hunter-killers spawn twice, once it was a surprise as to why the hell do I have enemies shooting at me from the other side of the map, the second one they were just tougher mobs that I was killing for xp boosting myself. Now I get 6 items (worth 15K for some reason) and a bunch of them spawn near an entry point and I am killed within seconds since the only way out was either through them or through a mech.

Also getting gear back is different, now i need to extract after activating my corpse beacon.

You always needed to extract with your recovered stuff/corpse.
