The Forever Winter

Personal thought of game Improvement
Hey all i hope you are having a wonderful day.

I wanted to share some personal input to this game for improvements and other features that could potentially be a thing for the game given the feedback for the community is a bit hit n miss at the moment given its still in early access given a few reasons why.

First off for why this game is still in early access at the moment has to deal with the mob spawn rate, mob render spawns from the player, water timer being real time rather than in world time, movement mechanics , camera positioning of player and gun and many more. just naming a few here given that overtime these will change for the better.

Personal thoughts about the game features and mechanics.

overall from what i gathered from playing i personally wished the movement for the player was more fluid and streamlined. one of my gripes had to be the vaulting over a small wall or climb. the dive mechanic and also the camera position over the shoulder for the gun left a bit too close and hard to really see when hip firing. felt like we needed a crosshair for that a bit better given how much mobs we had to deal with.

Loot mechanics in the game is pretty decent but i def don't like everything being RnG from mob positions , loot , and high threat area's i felt like this could be toned in a way its more balanced. key loot or iconic loot could be RnG like water , explosives , lockboxes , gacha boxes , and so on.

vendors i felt like gathering water in the game is pretty rng half of the time and rather we had other means of gathering water. i remember in some games they converted human fluids into a sourcable water in the scifi like games , or used air purifiers and converted the air around to gather water but it was at a slow pace given the collection style. i think this would squash out a bit of peoples distaste for having to non-stop collect water as a high priority.

having a food mechanic is great but have no real benefit at the moment so i would advise making a requirement for the innards to require food to stable the community/hub or use it in a way that upgrades stations that require said food.

overall i know this game is in early access and have high hopes this game kicks off really well being a cyberpunk era inspired setting just like tarkov but tells a really nice story and the details of the map are always great and breathtaking.

It frustrating that the controls still suck. This should be a priority for the first half of next year.

Controls are indeed awful. Could be they wanted to simulate you carrying a massive backpack, and that's why you can't run to the left or right, or look around while running. They probably wanted you to be scared whether a mob is directly behind you or not and you have to stop and look behind you to confirm or whatever. It would be alot more fun if the movement was more fluid yes.
