Anyone have any luck taking down a chopper solo?

I have yet to accomplish this since they're so good at navigating around your cover quickly and do so much damage.

Thus far I've only baited one into fighting with mechs and getting blown up.

They drop a okay - good loot if you stumble over it,, Hind Navigation Computer

use the anti material rifles and shoot just under the rotor at the engine assembly, its the easiest spot to hit them and 2 shots with the 20mm rifle almost always takes them down.
using the grenade launcher is a bad idea since it can dodge and most other weapons dont do damage fast enough to kill them before they rain explosions down on you until you die

wait 2 shot?? did they have a weak spot or something? it takes me 33 shot of 20mm ammo and drop nothing, I'm stuck with this mission

I've never managed to drop one in two shots either. Only way I can get this mission done is baiting them into fighting mechs and tanks. Which is fine I suppose, I don't mind there being overpowering threats in a game like this and using more creative methods.

But half the time I can't find the wreckage (which is literally just a drone debris, hopefully that placeholder is replaced in the near future as it can be very hard to find.) Downing them myself would make it easier to locate and secure the drop.

I don't know sorry, I aimed at the engine under the rotor thinking if would be a weak spot and I have taken 4 down that way now with never more than 5 shots when I was mostly hitting the main body or cockpit area. It might be down to them having been in fights that they got damaged when I didn't see, maybe the Devs changed numbers since I did it last Thursday or it could be something else entirely. All I know is that I have swatted more than a few of them out of the sky no problem from long range with the 20mm rifle

I shot the rotor and the all the other part more than 3 shot, cannot get them down, and I still not got that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nav computer, guess the chopper hate me that bad : (

they get down in 4-5 grenade when I tried on one who just spawned. It might have been damaged beforehand but I doubt so.

If you're lucky it was damaged before and can go down in 1-2 grenades. If not, you'll have to do it in several attacks. 1-2 grenade each time, then hide in a building, wait for it to engage some other target and attack again.
