Game not starting on Windows 10 1809 x64 (build 17763.6293)

When starting normally it says:
"DirectX 12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx12 or -d3d12 command line agrument."
I don't have any specifics set in the startup-options in steam.

If I try and circumvent this error with an actual option in the startup-options like "-d3d11", because DirectX 12 is not supported. (duh) I get the game-crash-report window right after clicking the message which appears:
Unable to launch with RHI 'D3D11' since the project is not configured to support it.

Anyone else?

Just did a checkup on everything driver related.
It's definitly not the drivers...

You're on a 6 year old version of Windows 10. 1809 famously had DirectX issues. GPU driver providers used to offer a "legacy" version of their driver for older OS editions but I don't think they do any more. The driver you have installed might be for Windows 10 21H2 and up.

I'd say update Windows 10 before you start poking around at other stuff.

yep, mount iso and install update from windows. For me nothing was formatted, just windows update

But instead, after you copy the d3d12.dll from vkd3d-proton, rename it to d3d11.dll.

You need at least 1909 for the DX Agility SDK used by UE5 and even then I'm not sure that version even actually works anymore. If you're running LTSC, at least have the decency to be on the latest one if you want to game.
