From the Early Access statement:
Why Early Access?
“We’re launching The Forever Winter in Early Access to actively involve our community in the game's development. This approach allows us to gather valuable feedback, continuously improve gameplay, and build a dedicated player base. The theme of FW is collaboration to overcome unrelenting circumstances, and we believe strong collaboration with the community will be key to making this title iconic.” [/b]

"Valuable feedback" Right... So hope they are watching and listening. Going to be damn tough to make it "iconic", given some\many\most players are not daily players or whales, right?

They're just hiding behind the excuse of wanting a "hardcore" game to appeal to idiots like second poster. You know this is gonan end up being a money grabbing mtx ridden live service game, it's basically guaranteed. There's nothing hardcore about realtime upkeep costs, otherwise every single mobile game ever would be hardcore. They're just easing evryone into it in early access, getting a bunch of people to buy the game and play it, full release when it's too late to refund it, and drop all the live service crap.

The water system is a fundamental thing that people seem to be losing their mind about, when in reality its really not that bad, your character development is far more important and you dont lose that.

the problem is not the water system itself, but the fact that the game will consume water, even if we are not on the game...

I work an average of 45h/ week, next to his I have my family life, and my various friends will not only be on forever winter.

In addition, the availability of my friends is subject to their own working life.

There are days when we can play together, and some days we can’t.

I was going to buy the game day one, but after learning about this system, which punished me, and my friends for having an active life and a family life, I would either wait for some money or I wouldn’t buy the game, and my friends neither

I think people losing their minds over it is ridiculous, not because the system is or is not good, but because of one simple fact: Not every game is for everyone, it is fine, do something else there is no shame in that. It was not so long ago that so many people were talking about how appealing to a "general audience" was hurting games/movies. But here we are with a dev team that has a vision they seem willing to stick with and stand behind and everyone is angry.

Do I personally like the water system idea, no not really. But I am interested in the game enough to try it regardless, assuming the game is not a broken buggy mess. Am I going to lose my head over it? Absolutely not.

How do you people not have time to play? Sweet Jesus. I actually do have ♥♥♥♥ to do to the point where I can't play games all day, and you don't see me complaining about the water.

Make stupid life choices and deal with the consequences. Simple as that.

You made your bed now you have to lay in it.

How are people still going on about the water consumption?
Hasn't it been stated numerous times that it'll be quite easy to ramp up reserves that last a month+ IRL within a few days in-game?

This kind of mechanic killed the game Boundless which had a beacon system which required fuel to maintain your base. This will absolutely destroy the game. I was fine with it but nearly everyone else wasn't. I said oh you can farm it in a few days for months, but that didn't help. Everyone said "Imagine if everyone did this for every game." I dismissed their concerns, but then one by one life got in the way and people's bases expired and they never came back as they didn't want to rebuild their bases.
This is not a realistic way to retain players and will instead drive them away. It should be obvious though, positive reinforcement works, negative reinforcement does not. I will not be buying if this mechanic is in place.

Lets put it in a perspective.
How are Devs still pushing such mechanic, what is the rationale of the simps attacking everyone criticising it?

The rationale to criticise it is straightforward logic. You have both busy people or those who want to play from time to time and perhaps wait for new updates to play again and then you have people who will grind it every night.
Either you will balance it in a way to make it consequential and punishing for some or you make it relaxed and inconsequential to most.
If the goal is as stated, to create survival anxiety, it should be consequential. So it should be linked to in game time so it can be balanced properly and made meaningful.

Now, do you see anywhere some important piece of info that would change the perspective? Have I missed some arcane logic here that devs and simps share among themselves but not with public?

I read your post thinking, if I check your profile, you'd perhaps have 20 hours at most played in the last two weeks. You have 115 hours of game time :lunar2019crylaughingpig: That is even more than me, and I've been gaming pretty hard of late with a War Thunder naval event.

I guess, it's about people like me? I might have 30 minutes to myself in the evening, I might not. I really wanted to enjoy this game - even if it's 1-2 runs at a time - but having to worry about finding enough time to play just to replenish water or losing my base is a massive turn off.
