Gun tier list in detail all attachments included
Attchments were nerfed hard with the 3/7/2025 update so keep that in mind.

100 hours on the game, was able to fully test and level most of the guns, buys ammo/meds on reset, this is my unbias'd aproached.
We need HP/ap ammo for the guns
stun/emp grenade rounds for mechs/robots and human enemies
ammo/guns need a rework because calibers don't make sense, and enemies need a rework entirely.

IF YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE A POST JUST TO TALK ABOUT THE RPK/AK PLEASE SAVE ME THE TIME AND JUST DON'T..... the ak/rpk is bugged for countless of my friends and others, and as i already know why you'd go the ak over the m249 is because some characters can't use lmg's. use whatever you want i do not care.

The m4 is only bugged with shaman, the ak is bugged because of the attachments, if you want a big magazine go with the m249, if you want a big magazine and you can't use lmg's then use the ak, however you're just gonna run in to loot capacity problems.
there's 3 characters i main, 2 can have the biggest capacity in the game to the point where you never fill up to the weight capacity making the weight skill useless. shaman is a middle ground character that can use "everything" other then the biggest rigs. he's decent for all around purposes ect... However with this being said uses whatever you want with whoever you want.

the ak was never said to be bad, it's just a lower tier gun because of the bugs, and ammo availability. all you really need is 60 rounds, anymore then that then you might aswell bring the m249. if you're going to farm multiple squads at the same exact time the m249 is king and once again i will state why the m249 is a better choice. IT HAS A UNDERBARREL GRENADE LAUNCHER that's currently not usesable.

side note, the m16 can use a suppresor but can't in game, and both the m16/m4a1 can use 2 types of 100 round mags, there's the jokers 100 round stannag clone and the double sided drum. the m249 can use stanags from 30 to 60 rounders aswell, the ak has a grenade launcher aswe'' as the rpk having one.
if the m16had 60/100 round mags it'd be higher then the m4a1, if the m4a1 had a 100 round mag it'd be slightly higher then the ak.

at this point it's coming down to weight problems, and i hope they make the mags reloadable like dayz for dificulty and the mags like tarkov so you can't just reload, you need to swap mags ect.... big capacity mags should be extremely rare and make the game cheesy/easy.

DAMAGE IS NOT THE REASON WHY THE AK/RPK IS DOWN TIER'D, if it's not bugged for you then go ahead and use it. it's slightly "better" however you wouldn't notice the damage increase at all since you most of the time kill grunts and small enemies.
I can't beilve i'm saying this, if you need more then 60 rounds then it's a accuracy issue.
only 2 characters can bring more then 1000 bullets and still have plenty of room for loot.
now if you want a farming character that uses smg's then go suppressed big mag 9mm, because 9mm is basically weightless and takes up no space unless you have thousands of bullets.

this wasn't supposed to be a characters disscusion, if you can't use the guns use the next best thing.

when it comes to some enemies like the cyborg melee enemies, you can simply 1 tap headshot or 1 shot with any gun/shotgun. these enemies were treated as a invalid enemy when testing. and the brawler/heavy brawler were 1 of the main enemies i was testing the guns on when it comes to dps/damage.

the ak/rpk/36m ATG and other specialized guns were put in the correct categorys. please read everything. i made sure to consider every possible angle.
i consider'd dps and damage, the m4 has less dps/damage over the ak with the 60 round mags and there barely noticable when kllling enemies. and the m249 has way more dps/damage then the rpk/rpd/ak when over 60 bullets due to the massive mag size the m249 has being 300 rounds.

rifle, shotgun, lmg aka squad support, pistols ect.... if you see your fave gun lower then another gun in the same category/same ammo then that's why. i made the list considering what should be focus'd on and what's the very best over the other guns. hence why the spec m4 is better then the vector and the m4 is better then the ak/rpk. i listed valid reasons, if you want a 96 to 100 round mag on your ak/rpk then be my guest, however you're better off going the m249 saw in that role because you're converting fully automatic weapon into a squad support weapon which is why the m249 is over the ak/rpk in that regard. i understand the frustrations you may have when it comes to the ak/rpk/ATG. the 36mm/ the other 50cal rifles were put in the squad support weapons because let's be honest, if you use it as a sniper rifle then you do you. but i'm treating these as support weapons for mech hunting ect... and at that point the grenade launchers are better entirely.

I TOOK SO MUCH TIME MAKING THIS LIST, TESTING THESE GUNS AND USING THESE and suffering mostly, enjoy the list. love the game and hope everyone gets off the water topic xD

S TIER SLEEPER
PPSH: S tier because it's being held back entirely on purpose, should have a drum, from testing this is 1 of the faster killing guns, has attachments that it shouldn't be getting, there is a surrpressed version that was a prototype irl. needs drum
in favor to removing all the attachments for the use of a drum. it was a born hipfire gun anyways

S TIER
Grenade Launcher: allows for sight choice, 6 shots

m79: counts as pistol, useable on characters that can use pistols, great for HK focus

Spectre M4: 50 rounds, suppressed. Downside no sight

Painless chaingun: highest damage/dps gun in the game other then gl's

m249 saw: 300 rounds: 151.09 damage, supprssed, sight mount, underbarrel grenade launcher currently doesn't work. Fair note if you want 100 rounds or more like the ak/rpk then you're better off going a squad support platform type of weapon for stun/dps ect... hence why the ak/rpk is below the m4a1 currently. the rpk should be lower'd a tier because the rpd exists. and the ak's little damage over the m4 shouldn't be a big deal in the long run. did loads of testing, the ak/m4 feels the same it's just the ak shouldn't be doing more damage them the m4 and the m4 should have 100 round mags. the m4 has 2 100 round mags, the double drums and the giant stanag mag. so the ak was put in it's correct place because it's 1 of the heavily bias'd guns.

GM6: 50cal rifle with sight option, can't suppress.

svd: only surpressed Sniper desinated rifle, 300 damage

M4A1: 60 rounds, surpressed, 202.8 damage. higher then rpk/ak because surplus 5.45, cryo, and 545 normal does the same damage and is currently abused and the ak mags are bugged often, m4 is bugged only on 1 character from testing

A TIER
xm25: 4 shots

pm-9 aka uzi pro: 50 round mag, suppressed, highest damage 127.18, donation only gun

vepr-12 shotgun: extremely rare, donation only random 24 hour drop, 25 round mag and has full auto, sight options and has a higher fire rate then other shotguns.

G-L 19, shouldn't be full auto but is, 50 round mag, suppressed, sight options that are bugged currently.

ak/rpk: treating these as the same guns, only good thing is suppressed and big mags, can have sights. read the m249 for why this is lower'd a tier. if you trully like the gun then use the gun for the high supply in ammo, however this is a heavily bias'd gun in this game as of rn. use it asmuch as you want if you beilve that the little damage over the m4 is noticable, but anything over 60 bullets the 300 round m249 with the underbarrel grenade launcher will always be recommended over the ak/rpk for the 300 rounds fire rate and the grenade launcher in the future.

scar: would be S tier if suppressed barrel worked currently doesn't, 50 round mags, "surrpessed" 212.15 damage.

rsass: full auto, 20 round mag, sight and suppressed.

m16: 30 round mags, under barrel gl, was told can be surpressed but i dropped the gun at level 31

SA58: 50 round mag, 179.9 damage, surpressed and has a sight

NTW-20: higher then anti tank rifle because 50cal ammo, little less damage then the ATR.

rpd: it's in a weird place tbh they didn't give it a sight mount and gace it a suppresor so idk, great gun and imo better then the rpk by default. however if you want a squad based support weapon then the m249 is a better choice.

B TIER
Vector: doesn't have it's fire rate, bugged af sometimes not suppressed

pp19 vityaz: 45 rounds, suppressed and sight

m60: sightless, not a bad iron sights, 308 is treated like a baby round, can be suppressed

mg34: same as m60

aa12: 32 rounds, trash sights

usp: suppressed, 12 rounds, 200 damage.

sog pistol: sight mount, can't suppress.

G36: 40 round mag, surrpressed. no point in using over m4/m249

36mm anti tank: can't do nothing to it, very loud, sights inacurate af.

apc9 pro: Don't know why they cap'd it at 20 rounds

p90: same damage as 9mm...... wtf why, can't be supprssed, ammo is treated poorly and sold in small amounts less then 9mm.

S12: barely in this tier tbh

Usas-12: 20 rounds, full auto, terrible sights

87 target: 15 mag size, suppressed and sight options

Viper: only reason it's in here is because 17 rounds, can't suppress. mag is only reason this isn't a F tier gun

surplus shotgun: can't mod

R8: can be suppressed, high damage at 150

c96: laser/flashlights and can have a sight mount

vks vykhlop: only reason it's so low is 5 round mags, can be surpressed

I put 66 hours in the game myself, in the first two weeks. I never had any gun better than the USAS-12 hip fire. you don't need sights for a shotgun, just know where the center of the screen is. I have maxed prestige scav girl and this is legit the best gun I used the entire time of my playthrough.

I never said that pistol or smg's are good, you are the one who recommends the ppsh, not me

counterpoint to "if you're favorite gun can't be used on a character then why use the character?", if your favorite character can't use that gun then why use that gun?

I disagree with health over speed, when things inevitably go bad, more speed = getting shot less and possibly getting to cover before getting one taped. if you are good with the guns you should be able to wipe a squad without getting shot so hp doesn't matter that much. but this is also irrelevant to the point i was making so i don't know why you brought it up

I also didn't bring up dps although the rpk is comparable to the m4a1 from my understanding, with a maxed damaged stat of 224 vs the m4a1 with 202

I don't used and didn't mention heavy rifles at all and don't think they're very good either so also irrelevant

I bring 300 rounds for an rpk and 5 advanced medkits I also almost never use then meds because I stun-lock enemies so don't get shot. i selectively loot and only take valuable items/ammo I use and can also pull around 300K on a good run, with scav girl

overall my point is that the rpk does the m4a1's job and can stun-lock like a discount LMG without sacrificing anything the m4a1 can do thus just being a better m4.

i did multiple times before you even pinged me, you just didn't pay attention.

i stated why it's down tier'd and why you shouldn't use the rpk/ak unless you want to/have no choice. anything over 60 rounds i'd recommend the m249 because of capacity. the dps is higher and the damage is only lower by 20 ish.

I'm going off od what i've seen, heard and i'm going off of friends and video's, for a day strqaight my friend was complaining how the ak wasn't working with some of the atchments like the 100 round mag or 95 round mag, it worked fine with me but not anyone else the gun being fixed isn't enough for me to up tier it until the other issues are addressed.
Laser and flashlight attachments are terrible and shouldn't exist in their current format. Lasers in alt aim are nowhere near the crosshair/bullet but in 1st person ADS work fine. Kind of defeats the purpose of them in that regard beyond just being "Tacticool". Flashlights (at least the "fancy" one) blind me more than let me see and AI completely ignore them.

Also, the SAW old man hireling is hilarious... if you get a chance, bring three of them along with you and play fortunate son..... stealth game my cheeks...

i would be playing more but i'm caught up with other play throughs with friends. Need to wait for the next update that changes weapons to update this, if any weapon gets updated please send me the proof and tell me and i'll check it out to see if it's better or worse to use.

What bugs did you see with the Ak and RPK, Ghost? I've not seen any bugs making it not work. I note that your testing was body shots only... why? And complaining about what "should" be based on your personal preference and whining about guns being "bias" is... biased.

Atatchments breaking the gun, i've seen the 2 drums only load to 30 rounds ect... not to mention the other attatchments just making the gun invisible ect...

Useless comment, i wouldn't of said anything if it was the 5.45 ak but you specified rpk.

but weither it's the ak/rpk, they both have the same countless bugs for multiple characters and the m4 is only bugged on shaman.
the m4a1 uses 556, 556 can be farmed in mass quanties aswell as 50cal ammo in mech trenches without any risk to dying. there's only 1 map where ak's and rpk's are abundant however on that map it's an on going extreme fire fight with medium mechs ect.... so shooting is a risk. i'm starting to regret making this post just because people need to "prove" something, just because the ak/rpk have 20 more damage doesn't mean it's superior, if you're gonna take a gun over 60 ammo i'd always recommend 2 characters aswell as the m249 for farming, mech trenches is the best map to farm if you know what you're doing with water, explosives and 1 lock box or just farming enemies. rn the guns are a joke, all of the big rifle rounds feel awful, 5.45 is some how better then 556 even though 556 and 5.45 are basically on par with each other in every way possible. if you want something more then 30 rounds and don't plan to take a ak/m4/m249 i'd recommend a 308 sa or 50cal scar. However most people don't have the attachments and end up going the ak/rpk simply because you level them at the same time.

now for another fun fact, THE RPK AND THE AK DON'T HAVE COMPATIBLE SWAPPABLE MAGS. devs pleasebecause of this game i have to bring this up countless times because people don't know guns xD

let me specify, skill is a massive part in the game and 1 headshot is enough to dictate that 20 extra damage to be worthless. the M4 feels smoother compared to the ak/rpk, however if you're hip firing or not aiming yeah then go ak/rpk.

i specified all the 5.45 are currently the same and the cryo is bugged.
wasn't going to come back here, but since it showed up on the front page again, last night I experienced the same mag size bug that you detract from so much with the m4a1. I had a 60 round drum but load into a match with 30 rounds, so i had to reload immediately to get back up to 60. was playing scav girl so its not just shaman

that bug to the best of my understanding is due to the bad net code and can affect any gun and character with a mag upgrade applied especially if you have high ping
