The Forever Winter

Why are Exo Pilots are all Females and why do we "rescue" them ?
See the Innards are full of men...
Bored and frustrated men ...
And we grab women out of the battle field at the risk of losing equipment and lives.
And I saw what that Eurasian cyborg in my base was doing to people to keep himself alive ...
Hey Fun Dog what happens to the "rescued" pilots ?...
WHAT HAPPENS TO THEM ?

i think its to breed more people so the scavengers dont die out of existence as getting more children is harder in a forever war by 3 factions.

They join your recruit pool as an NPC ready to die on a mission with an SMG. Let's face it, recruits don't have very good prospects for returning from missions. Too many itchy trigger fingers. No idea how to be a scav.
Malnourished men tend to be slightly larger than malnourished women, thusly, malnourished women are easier to shove inside metal exosuits whilst keeping costs down.

But getting the 100k credit is somewhat worth it, though it is pointless to have recruits if you were to solo as i found them useless and unnecessary as they see an enemy, they open fire before you do or they just body block you.
Exo pilots would have alot of useful information, they know the strengths and weaknesses of the Exo's, how best to avoid them, and how to use them. Perhaps eventually we may recover Exo's to refurbish for their usage (or dare I say, our usage???).

That being said, there is another advantage. Our men are severely demoralized, bringing in more women could be good for morale, but its a risk, it could be bad for morale too.

Do you really want to know? Why do you think all NPC in Innards are guys? :)
Damn... we must be going through women like water then, if thats the case....

If theres a ton of men in our camp, and only a few women, I can see how things could get very bad very quickly. Bringing in only a few new women may not be enough to solve that issue.

Let me start by explaining WHY I think all exo pilots are females.
_ Small frame, it's easier to cram yourself inside an exo-mech if you're small, that's an easy explanation,
_ Neural plasticity, neural link devices can be looted and I think they're used to pilot mechs, women have a better neural plasticity to adapt to these devices.
_ Exo mech are made by only one faction, Europans. This faction is described as the least technologically advanced and on the losing side. If you're losing too many men why not bring women to the battlefield at point, especially if they are great assets with the best armored infantry gear.

Then how how would they not kill themselves instead of ending as spoils of war just to be bred to exhaustion ? Death on the battlefield sound pretty sweet if you know you'll end up R-ed to death.
I know their is the example of Scav Girl, would they keep their freedom and have the choice to return to their faction or join the Scavs or do they end up as basically ... slaves ?
Another scenario is to sell them to the Eurasians and Euruskans, for ... profits... and what ever happens to them is not our business. They will likely end up very useful to get intel and maybe some ... parts ... for the Biotech manufacturers of these factions.

I didnt think of that, service in an Exo may be a way to avoid a severe fate back home... Its a good idea, fits the theme perfectly. Scav life would be a way to avoid going home, they are presumed dead and have a fresh start with us. Its not a garauntee that they wouldnt be fought over in the Innards, but its a better chance than going home. Maybe theres even laws back home about it, or something.

they go on scav runs. Like doing the rescue quest literally unlocks exo pilot as a recruit. get your mind out of the gutter.

Dude it's a rhetorical discussion if you didn't get it.
It's about building lore.
Look further than your nose.

I simply think they haven't made a male exo pilot model yet. Same goes for Innard population. Also there isn't a lot of lore conveyed just yet, and what is conveyed is merely partial. But if you want to have your head canon, why not.

I guessing because that's how the concept artist made them. As for why save them, well we know that the mechs are the one doing the bulk of the military work even though the regular humans do the bulk of the dying. So if one your your very valuable pilots for the embodiment of the Mech God you might want that pilot back if it was possible.

The lore is just like real life. If the exo-pilots aren't given enough cups of tea they turn into Mother Courage and you come home and all your stuff's gone.
