I play exclusively with controller (MnK makes my hands hurt) and the controller support in TFW feels more like emulated mouse support rather than something that's had much work put into it. Yet.
The controller moves a cursor in most menus, and support for using things like shoulder buttons or the D-pad is hit-or-miss. Some stuff works, some stuff doesn't, so most of the time you're dragging the cursor around with the thumb-stick.
As for using a controller in the game itself, it's fine except for aiming. There's no aim assist whatsoever, and thumb-stick input feels simultaneously too twitchy and too sluggish. You can hit stuff at point-blank and maybe a little beyond, but anything at range is kinda hopeless.
I'd expect this to get better eventually, but it feels pretty primitive for now.
