If you want to support the devs on the idea of the game as it is and what it will expand into, buy it.
If the developer is sincere in his aim and effort to what he said, I fully support the development. I like the attitude regardless if they succeed or not as long as they give their all.
GL
First, the game is very janky right now
* Movement needs fixes as it is easy to get stuck on tiny pieces of terrain
* Not all scopes align properly currently
* Certain Characters (bag man specifically) have worse scoped aiming then others
* Enemies can unfortunately spawn directly on top of you in this game sometimes
* Headshots feel great in this game, but body shots feel less good. Also it's hard to tell how much damage you are dealing at all unless you get headshots which generally are lethal to normal troopers.
* While guns have huge mods/part options right now, the UI for this is not very good.
Tips:
* Suppressors are the single most important thing you can do to make this game easier. As soon as you unlock your first weapon merchant, buy the shop out of all suppressors (suppressors A-E i believE) Then try to attach them to ANY weapons that let you.
* The game will tell you HIGH stability is better, but in fact you want LOWER STABILITY to reduce your recoil.
* Headshots for ANY infantry level enemies are you friend.
* Aggro works as follows:
1. Any unsuppressed weapons will alert the squad you shoot at and most squads all around you, zombies/cyborgs in particular have a huge threat range.
2. Suppressed weapons will NOT alert the squad you shoot at IF you kill the targeted enemy in 1 headshot. If you do not kill in one shot, the entire squad of the guy you shot at will be alerted, but nearby squads will NOT.
3. If enemies are in a firefight with each other, as long as you don't take hostile action or walk directly into the cross fire, they will usually ignore you.
* Death works a follows:
Upon death you lose ALL loot you are carrying, all guns you have equipped, and all rig upgrades (not base rigs)
When you pickup your corpse/grave, you get your rig upgrades back and your EQUIPPED guns back upon extraction (everything else is lost)
However the recovery system works like this.
Lets say you play 3 missions.
Mission 1: Die
Mission 2: Recover grave, then die
Mission 3: Recover grave then extract.
In that situation you would get all rig upgrades and EQUIPPED WEAPONS back from both mission 1 and mission 2.
* Finally here is the current known kill chart:
Toothy, Mother, Stalker, Grabber, Orgamech are all invulnerable, that or they have such high HP that it is infeasible to kill them (like 300 shots of GL infeasible)
Corpse Tank has a ridiculous amount of HP (roughly 20 grenades worth)
Exos are 4-8 grenades
Helis are 5-8 Grenades
Medium Mech is around 16-20 grenades
Medium Mech HK is around 8-15 grenades
Normal Tanks are around 3-5 grenades
Thanks. Will keep these in mind.
You just need to go into it with the right mindset to be able to enjoy it.
If you got a high end rig that can push 4k on UE5 this game looks really good, sound design is good as well.
Being a member of this elite is desirable because it establishes you are:-
=========
1. A person of taste. Someone who is still moved by 1970s and 1980s cyberpunk cliches. In the 1970s and 1980s this kind of art was only slightly tolerated: since it was understandable that young people would form visceral reactions to other genres' conventions and traditions. And for students to spend some years in their teens and twenties dedicating themselves to hardline deconstructionism... was ultimately educational and something they would grow out of.
You though are one of the cognoscenti who knows better. For you the body horror and cybernetic modification that were the outward symbols of cyberpunk literature were not only superficial window-dressing, but precious and eternal mysteries.
The wrecked Terminator android crawling after Sarah Connor was not the end of the film: but the climax of Culture Itself. All of the antagonists in Art should be crawling wrecked androids: as many of them as possible on-screen at once.

2. A person of substance. Your computer is better-than-average to meet the minimum requirements. To play comfortably it is Top Quartile. And therefore socio-economically you are a Top Quartile person.
===
3. You are Hardcore. Your good taste and wealth are not qualities you possess by accident. As the master of your own world you can do what you damn well please, and so much so that you don't want to associate with anyone who lacks that freedom. And so the water mechanic is totemic for you, distinguishing you and your fellow elites from the hoi polloi.
===
4. You are Based. The Forever Winter is differentiated from other games by not seeking mass or any appeal because its developers are like you: wealthy enough to risk losing money on totemic products.
And not neutrally totemic: The Forever Winter is one of the few games brave enough to glorify traditional male values: whereby men strive to find add-ons for their weapons, and thereby provide water (and other MacGuffins) for their family.
And women are twenty-foot-tall cannibal cyborgs, resplendent in implied eroticism but without the biological equipment that goes with it (which is itself a quote from Hajime Sorayama and Masamune Shirow).
To Matt Walsh's famous challenge you can reply: they're like men but Early Access.
===
5. You are a Patron of the Arts. A product being barely-functional shovelware is no obstacle if you can see the potential.
===
6. You are a Role Model to those less fortunate. Prowess in the game is nothing without the Rhetoric and Charisma to defend it on the forums. Your fairness and wisdom attracts many to the game, but few can live up to it - and you guide them anyway. But if someone goes off-script they will wish they hadn't - due to your barbed wit and sharp tongue.
=========
Do not delay. If you buy The Forever Winter now you might be able to find a way of farming something or killing something or exploiting a bug that hasn't already been put on Youtube. But there might only be a few more weeks before the viewers move on to something else. It might be stick in the craw to buy something on 10% discount, and without any Limited Edition or Boxed Copy variants - but that is surely a one-off mistake on part of the studio and you can always buy it again for more money when they put it right.
