I see a lot of people are having this issue, whats up with that?

You gotta have 160 gigs (2x the game size) free on your SSD. The game uses a single giant archive to store it's data and must go through it to patch the game while keeping a copy intact, it deletes said copy after patching.

It is what it is for now, hope that gets fixed.

Ready or Not does the same thing, I ended up just keeping in uninstalled. I think Remnant 2 does that too.

I literally have over 300GB free on my SSD and it will not update. I have to delete the game an reinstall every patch.

I'm too had to reinstall when previous patch had came. But today game was patched successfully. I have only 150Gb free on disk. Game folder is 83Gb currently.

i just left it go for half an hour and it works now. I guess you got to wait a long time for it to install, and it doesn't let you know.

Came here to say the same thing. It shows 0, but is still actually patching I believe. Same thing for me, sat for a half hour showing no progress and then it was just done

Be patient or move the game to faster disk drive.

SteamPipe does this during patching and is woefully I/O and CPU bound:

ive found cancelling the install and then verifying files works somehow idk but no issues on my end after hope this helps

its had nothing to do with speed you just need a certain amount of free space to be able to install

If I got it right you have to have around 90 gigs free, but I've doubled that for good measure

It has everything to do with both because Steam UI will freeze if the disk queue is full, but yea.


Still not sure why Valve didn't improve SteamPipe for modern game engines, it is so obsolete that even trash stores like EGS got it beat on this merit.
It really hurts their other tech like LAN Transfers which makes them basically worthless.

i dont know how much you need but i had 90 gigs and i did free up about 250gigs and it installed right away
