What's happening with the Scavenger faction?
Once you start the game and get your legs you're ALWAYS working for the Scavs. Turned in a few quests today and for some reason the Scav faction NPCs are ONLY a 1 with me and I don't have access to the tier 2 items I used to. I haven't done anything to pi$$ them off that I know of either. I have Western Embassy at a 3 right now but as far as I know doing jobs for them should NOT pi$$ off the Scavs. Or am I wrong?

I believe that the scavs are opposed to you killing anyone of any faction. You take a huge hit for team kills or civilian kills, but they seem to also just dislike general violence.

Except the leader, the guy you talk to (can't remember his name right now) TELLS you that you'll be able to take other quests and work for other corpos. Even suggests that it is highly profitable to do so. What sucks is is that the Scav vendor that sells med kits is the ONLY guy I have now that sells med kits and without finding t2 or t3 medkits I'm being forced to use T1 syringes. I've only been on like 3 or 4 maps with my kids and I don't know em yet like my kids do. I know Ashen very well right now but find I'm struggling on the other maps because I haven't learned them yet. Thus, me falling short in med kit restocks.

start selling your loot to the scav faction merchants, get their trust up.
If you start at the Cemetary entrance to Scorched there's a pretty safe run to the extract if you hug the left side and pass through the road/field where the tanks usually fight, and there's usually a lockbox in the first bunker by the destroyed watchtower with the Explosives spawn. Relatively safe run if you hug the left side and loot casualties between fights, and anything spawning in will generally be pretty far out into the wasteland to the left so you'll see it coming. "Loot All" on bodies lets you take everything out of their inventories immediately without waiting to search, it'll just be a "?" in your backpack but will get identified when you extract.

Do a quick run or two like that, staying light, avoiding fights, and trying to snag lockboxes, and you'll have enough crap to sell to the meds vendor to get your standing back up. There's also a gacha box sometimes on the far end of the bunker with the lockbox, overlooking the small bunker down in the pit with the code-locked door. Good vantage point to plan your exfil from, too.
From my playthroughs, it seems that when you kill soldiers when they fire first, the Scavs like that, because it's self defense, but if you kill them first, it goes down a little, but not a lot.

the above comments are right though, Killing civilians takes a HUGE hit to your scav rating.

The trust resets seem to be a glitch, but you can bribe their trust back with expensive loot you have.

Thanks all. I didn't know you could gain back trust by selling them your goods. Not sure how I missed that. Still, thanks.
