SVD is the best weapon. Change my mind.
It can melt everything up to and including HunterKillers.
It can one shot headshot soldiers without alerting his squadmates right next to him.
With truescope and a bit of practice you can clear areas at range with no problem.
Low ammo use means you never run out.
Great stagger on hit.
No return fire means no healing needed.

I see so many people playing with M4, but it flat out refuses to kill heavier soldiers without piling on tons of ammo and healing.

I just wish we could silence a shotgun for those surprise moments up close.

I just use the AA-12 and roflstomp every horde in seconds, be it brawlers or elites.

Grenade launchers are just silenced SVDs with an AOE.

Anti-Tank rifle that deals 1000 DMG and has a long range shot when aiming and destroys a tank in +/- 5 shots

Pistol Grenade Launcher that gives 1000 DMG/ M16 and M60...because Vietnam/ Normal Grenade Launcher 1000 DMG/ Europan sniper 800 DMG/
On the topic... do any of the SVD parts actually do anything besides add rails? I've got them all unlocked, but they all seem purely cosmetic aside from that and maybe trading 0.01 stability for 0.01 accuracy which isn't even noticeable.

A lot of the other weapon reciever/barrel combinations change the damage and affect other stats noticeably, but with the SVD it just seems to be the attachment points, and the basic barrel is the only one that takes a suppressor anyway as far as I can tell?

Hmm I guess I'm too heavily invested in stealth. Having a suppressed sniper is bread and butter for me. I stopped using shotguns just because of the noise factor. I love being a fly on the wall in the battle, cleaning up stragglers so I can loot.

SVD for me covers all bases up to HKs.

Agreed. Suppressor and scope is all you really need. But 300 dmg is not nothing.

That's why it's so odd that the Level 10/15/20 barrels seem like direct downgrades, lol. Though one of them at least *looks* like it has an integral suppressor, but I haven't actually tested it yet.

hmm from my tests anti tank rifle takes around 12 shots to kill exo and tanks, but yea anti tank rifle with turret is monster option no can come close to you and no need to aim just 1 shot to body for olmost all enemys

SVD upper B adds a scope held on with weaver brackets. Upper C reduces hipfire accuracy further but adds picatani rail.

I havent tried to use my turrets yet, nor the antitank snipers. But stuck on the Corpse tank mission, so this might be the right time..

Is the Upper B scope any good compared to the common 4x? I saw it, but I stuck with one of the top rail ones because I switch between the 4x and a red dot depending on what map I'm running.

It does the same job, its mostly preference. I prefer the trueaim right now but I'll switch to Upper B to conserve my rails

Trueaim works really well. So well in fact that I haven't bothered to try anything else.
