Can you become godlike?
I am curious can you eventually fight those big bosses as your progress and get stronger and more weapons etc..?

Does this game allow you to get that powerful? I feel like the more I prestige, I will be able to actually fight in this war then be a scappy.

No, not really; most of the larger enemies are straight up invulnerable.

This isn't that kind of game, you are not that guy.

It sounds like some of the enemies are currently invulnerable - Toothy, Corpse Tank (?), Cyborg Courage Mother, the doggo.

The game tells you 'you're not that guy', but that's mostly only thematic - as you prestige, especially if you play Bag Man and carry an LMG + Grenade Launcher/AT Rifle you can absolutely clear some maps, especially with the R Cultist/EXO pilot/Fire support squad solo.
EXOs look spooky but go down to 4 grenades, for instance.

Although i agree, i was suprised i could mow down a whole group of "zombie runners" (dont know their name) because i accidentally run into them. I don't know how well you van hold on against normal soldiers though.

But in general you are "not that guy".
you can probably kill the big mechs but it will take forever and it would be a juggling act between you and your party to cycle meds and such.

Able to defend yourself and hold your ground at times? Sure.

"Godlike?" No lol.

You got to be careful against regular soldiers. I will say, once you get the anti tank gun or the AA-12 you can absolutely chew them up and spit them out.

Someone did the math and it takes almost 20 grenade launcher shots to bring down a medium mech.

It really depends on the map - like I have a lot of luck clearing out most of Scorched Enclave, or the interior portions of Mech Trenches, or even Scrapyard Nexus with enough ammo, but it depends on the enemy comp/time of day/level of conflict. Gotta play that by ear, you'll never be rambo, but bagman with a Rack Rig can carry a SAW with 600 rounds, a Grenade Launcher with 30 rounds, and 8 advanced aid kits with room left for loot (but with the Rack you're only picking up lock boxes/exploseives/gacha anyways)

The Rack is the money maker. Elephant mausoleum, in and out 5 minutes tops. You can make an easy 170k or 8 days of water each run. Just kinda depends on what spawns.

Toothy, Mother, Stalker, Grabber, Orgamech are all invulnerable...

Corpse Tank is not, but has a ridiculous amount of HP (roughly 20 grenades worth)
Exos are 4-8 grenades
Helis are 5-8 Grenades
Medium Mech is around 16-20 grenades
Medium Mech HK is around 8-15 grenades
Normal Tanks are around 3-5 grenades

To OP:
You will NEVER be godlike, and least not in the current state of the game...
But with proper gear you can dish out a lot of pain.

Wild. The fact that grenades kill armored mechs/vehicles makes the game seem so arcade-y, in a world of hardened vehicle armor and ablative shielding.

I really hope they add more scav-y mechanics, make us fight like Ewoks setting traps for the AT-ST on Endor. Trip mechs and use IEDs on the cockpit, stuff like that.

I am happy with that, I do enjoy the perspective of being the small fry. It's more relatable. ha.

You can be a terror to the common foot soldiers, but then you'll attract the big boys that they send to deal with little terrors like you.
Akameka Sep 30, 2024 @ 12:48pm
nope. You'll always be squishy ( for now at least ). prestige will allow you to be a little less squishy, and better gear will allow you to murder ennemies before they do the same to you.

Shaman lvl16, AA12 with 200 ammos, I can consistently clear mech trenches and end up with 50+ kills, including a dozen HKs, but if I do a mistake and get surprised short range by a shotgunner, HK, brawlers with guns or AT sniper, they can murder me in seconds.

As for going balistic, I don't really have the choice since I get marked by HKs 5-10 minutes in the raid no matter what, even if I don't kill anyone. Don't know if it's linked to the character lvl, but it's getting really annoying.
