Lore question about Ashen Mesa
So I just had a surreal run in Ashen Mesa. Is there any lore reason I may have missed for why there are cows being transported by hot air balloon over the Ashen Mesa? Genuinely just was so caught off guard that I just watched them fly over head for a full minute while almost dead center in a skirmish.

That's a thing that will sometimes happen on any map. Though not explained in game yet to my knowledge it is mentioned in a trailer AI or machine forces go out at night to harvest and rebuild. Also some factions (looking at Eurasia) might be harvesting more biomass for cyborgs or maybe something like 40k corpse starch. But yeah, someone is stealing the cows for valuable meat or biomass is my assumption.

Actually, oddly enough, I found the answer. They are used as sacrifices to the "machine god", you can see it on the mural you get when you but the alter upgrade for the innards

Neat I hope they give us more lore and story in game directly, and indirectly. Now I really know more about this universes machine god. I'm looking very intently Eurasia's cyborg monks and zombies.

Biofuel, food, used to grow spare organs in them, put in preservation. Your guess as good as mine.

still better than the canned food and its "mystery meat" that is recycled below mech trench med bay =p
For those who don't know, "mystery meat" is usually the code name for "human meat"

No, looks like bro found the real answer, look up! I'm about to go stare at the mural in my innards once I'm done with my coffee! I did notice my crow friends seems to be poking at meat offerings, didn't notice what they were.

From the moment I understood the heaviness of my cow, it disgusted me

Yoooo, a warhammer 40k game in the style of a pve extraction where you are just like, a civilian or a guardsman scavenging for supplies while enemy factions go at it would actually be awesome

While the game has a...plethora of issues, I do like the visual storytelling. The cows are a cool detail I would have totally missed if I hadn't been scanning the horizon for drones.
