This would solve a lot. :)
ARK can be played as a single player game or with friends making local server. A SP/coop game like TFW. Doing this, you can turn the base degradation off as well as tweak the timers on taming, basically no wipe.
Would you support the offline water drain being a toggle?
Well then you not doing something right, I have 54 water stored at my Innards and another 8 in stash. only have a total of 22 hours played.
55 Water, that almost 2 entire months I can go with out playing the game.
Just sayin....
you need the people with jobs (that means money) to keep the game alive.
This game is in no way is good enough to leech actual numbers of paying -"no job"- gamer from Mmos and ARK.
So they need to cater to people that just hop on for a raid or two so that those will buy the game / future paid content / extensions
Do you think the majority of folks will research this? Or will just pass the game by?
Imagine thinking you can't be an adult, have a job; and still make time for hobbies.
Its kinda ironic that the devs lambasted the industry for FOMO mechanics, but they add a mechanic that dictates you must play or you lose your progress.
There's no monetization or seasonal mechanics, therefore no FOMO. I don't think you know what FOMO means, is it just a trendy word you heard somewhere and now you throw it around at anything you don't like?
FOMO by definition refers to a game gatekeeping content behind a seasonal or timegate so that if you miss it you can never get it again. There's nothing like that in this game.
You tell all of these "terminally online people" with no time to all go touch grass, but also say they need to stop wasting time complaining about a mechanic that requires a modicum of grinding and go grind.
So what is it these supposed bad people should go do? Should they get up and leave their computers to go "touch grass" or should they keep sitting and grinding for something they don't enjoy.
