Yeah, so do I, and since I enjoy this game, I still find at least a half hour within my workweek to play. and even then I'm at a point where I can wait for my 2 days off to play the game after my chores are done.

Technically 6 months requires a long term visa so. You should bring a laptop since it's a business trip.

Devs need to rework this mechanic then, it's not fair that you'd lose your in game items because a serial killer put you in his basement.

What if i die? I can't play a game anymore. Do i still lose items or my kids still get water to my base?

That's on the devs too. Since you have to play the game constantly to avoid running out of water, if they don't change how water works, they'd be responsible for sending a rescue team to make sure you don't die and force your kids into that loop.
