I.E I upgraded to a medium equipment runner's bag and now I can fit a ton of crap on me as well as two large items.
The rig's description is incorrect, yes...however I do believe it is physically loaded out the way it is intended. At first glance it may appear to be inferior to the Medium Equipment Gunrunner, but that is not the case. The money earning potential of this rig is very good if used properly. The reason for this is how the gun racks work...and this rig is the only one with two gun racks in the game.
Allow me to explain a bit more...the gun rack is used to store destroyed/broken weapons you find on a raid. When you exfil with those guns, you can sell them...OR you can re-equip them into the gunrack slot prior to launching a new raid. Upon entry into the raid, they change from destroyed to "disabled"...and if you successfully exfil with them they turn into active usable weapons (which can be sold for significantly more). So, no, it isnt just a money sink for completionists. They just need a better way of explaining how the gunracks work.
As far as the OP goes, I got thrown off too, but it seems both Large and Weapon slots count as "open" in the description, so it could definitely stand to be worded better. You can tell what you're actually getting by looking at the layout, though. S/M/L is normal internal storage in ascending size, and those can be upgraded to double their total base capacity with mods.
Large is the squares and weapons are the gun icons, and they always hold 1 and 3 each, respectively. Only upgrades for them are Reinforced for damage reduction currently, no way to cram two waters into one large slot. But, if you want to haul a ton of large items, The Rack for Bag Man is the way to go, it can hold 8 Large with one L-sized internal storage in the middle.
It is intended, although it may not be permanent, as the description of the disabled weapon says 'will be repaired on extraction' (Or wording to that effect, don't have a gunrunner rig at the moment)
I agree that the description is poorly worded. And the vendor's 'compatibility' thing doesn't work like you'd expect it to. I have a equipment runner, and the top center is a small, so I was trying to buy a large for it, and it showed it available with 'hide incompatible' chosen, but it isn't available because the top center slot is a small one.
I would expect it to show compatible with the currently worn rack, not 'all of them in your inventory'.
Who drops the RPD?

Location
Dropped by Euruskan Infantry in destroyed and disabled forms.
I just got two SCARS and an NTW anti-materiel rifle from this in one go.
Absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ insane game mechanic though.
