Heavy equipment gunrunner rig?
So the very expensive heavy gunrunner rig says it has 8 open slots, but it seems to only show 2 with 2 gun slots, with a large in the middle... for 690k... it is BARELY better than the medium one which has a lot more internal space for one less gun rack (is half the price) ... am I missing something here? I think it might be a copy paste description, because "The Rack" also has the exact same slot description for 2 very different rigs, as far as I'm aware the rack seems to be truthful to the slot description atleast... I'm not willing to spend 690k to just find out if the heavy gunrunner actually has more slots than shown, anyone knows?:ranald:

They really don't bother to explain it but basically there's three types of container on bags: Gun, Storage, Large Item (Water, etc) and the little picture is what containers it has to begin with. These can be modified with parts you find, but the "basic" version you pay for will not be taken from you.

I.E I upgraded to a medium equipment runner's bag and now I can fit a ton of crap on me as well as two large items.

I am aware, but look at the rig I'm actually talking about, the description, and then the little image of slots, nothing makes sense due to description and I think is a very sub-par bag for the price and needing to use certain characters for it. I thought MAYBE if it was an end-game bag it might've actually have like modular slots (since it states 8 open slots, not 2) but alas, it is just a money sink I guess for completionists at the moment, I feel like the medium one is overall better for half the price

I love how I explained how it worked and yet you're still complaining about the description lol

The rig's description is incorrect, yes...however I do believe it is physically loaded out the way it is intended. At first glance it may appear to be inferior to the Medium Equipment Gunrunner, but that is not the case. The money earning potential of this rig is very good if used properly. The reason for this is how the gun racks work...and this rig is the only one with two gun racks in the game.

Allow me to explain a bit more...the gun rack is used to store destroyed/broken weapons you find on a raid. When you exfil with those guns, you can sell them...OR you can re-equip them into the gunrack slot prior to launching a new raid. Upon entry into the raid, they change from destroyed to "disabled"...and if you successfully exfil with them they turn into active usable weapons (which can be sold for significantly more). So, no, it isnt just a money sink for completionists. They just need a better way of explaining how the gunracks work.

Wow, I wasn't aware of the destroyed into disabled weapons mechanic for 2 runs in a row, this IS pretty big then
I'm honestly not sure that the Destroyed weapons becoming Disabled when you bring them back in is an intended mechanic, but for now yeah you can use it to launder broken guns into usable ones, especially somewhere with a fast extract like Nexus. AFAIK it's also currently the only way to get the RPD.

As far as the OP goes, I got thrown off too, but it seems both Large and Weapon slots count as "open" in the description, so it could definitely stand to be worded better. You can tell what you're actually getting by looking at the layout, though. S/M/L is normal internal storage in ascending size, and those can be upgraded to double their total base capacity with mods.

Large is the squares and weapons are the gun icons, and they always hold 1 and 3 each, respectively. Only upgrades for them are Reinforced for damage reduction currently, no way to cram two waters into one large slot. But, if you want to haul a ton of large items, The Rack for Bag Man is the way to go, it can hold 8 Large with one L-sized internal storage in the middle.

It is intended, although it may not be permanent, as the description of the disabled weapon says 'will be repaired on extraction' (Or wording to that effect, don't have a gunrunner rig at the moment)

I agree that the description is poorly worded. And the vendor's 'compatibility' thing doesn't work like you'd expect it to. I have a equipment runner, and the top center is a small, so I was trying to buy a large for it, and it showed it available with 'hide incompatible' chosen, but it isn't available because the top center slot is a small one.

I would expect it to show compatible with the currently worn rack, not 'all of them in your inventory'.

Disabled weapons existing are an intended thing. I believe they're rare drops or occasionally reward/loot from quests, like the sniper. Destroyed weapons becoming disabled just from deploying onto a map with them in your inventory is almost certainly a bug as it makes no logical sense.
