ERROR Game is already running?

Anyone else reach a solution to deal with this "error" message? I picked up the EA when it went live, but I have 64 mins of this error trying to launch the game. I've tried the laundry list of general "tips" but haven't seen anything directly related to "Forever Winter" and this error.

what help do you expect if you don't list what you have tried?

I just realized the same thing. I can't find any single process that is running tied to the game and its put me at 64 hours played now; I was constantly crashing on start up and now can't refund if they are unable to fix.. pretty annoying

Relax- there's enough people in discussions acting this way. I was simply stating I've tried just about everything you can think of, and "verifying integrity of files" was first on the list. If you haven't had this issue, no I can't expect you to know what I've tried- it was more of a "if anyone has found a solution to this issue, that worked for them, please let me know". Going through the myriad of things I've tried isn't necessary in order for someone to tell me what worked for them. I can make that deduction on my own.

It's really annoying, and doubly so, that Steam registers time "in game" also launching the game, or any amount of time after you click "start". I canceled my refund, because I genuinely want this to work out- and I am totally aware of the risks with EA. At the same time, it's difficult when you can't even get the game to actually launch. Back to being patient, and hopeful, there's a solution. I do appreciate the communication from the dev team at least. I imagine they're busting their asses trying to get things smoothed out.

Heya, yeah i have this error too but found a workaround, Browse local files, find the forever winter exe, close steam completely, run game from the exe in admin mode, itll start steam again but you will launch the game without the error <3 works for me atleast!
