The Forever Winter

The Forever Winter

Constant stuttering.
Hey guys,

As per the title game is unplayable for me with constant stuttering, running the game on low with 60% res scale with roughly 80+ fps.

Anyone know a fix or is it my kinda old CPU? :(

Specs:
I7 10700k (in game is on about 45% usage)
4070 (again dips between 50-100% usage)
32gb ram (only about 16gb usage)

Any suggestions? Thanks.

I'm getting pretty consistent stuttering when patrols spawn in. Is the game stuttering around the same places in maps?
I'm not sure there's a fix that we can do as players. I imagine that this is probably something that's needs to be fixed by the devs.

Yes, similar issue the best map for me is Mech Trenches, so I imagine it has something to do with texture load ins on the map + AI spawns. : (

I was fixing the stutter for me by change my mouse connection from wired to wireless. I dont´t know why but it works for me. I use Asus Chakram X Origin. So change from wired to wireless or use controller this will also fix the stutter.

It's called 'spawn stutter' and yeah, it's a game code thing with AI and CPU threads

A different user might've actually found a fix for your issue! Try disabling the steam overlay, it significantly reduced the amount of stutter I have when patrols spawn in

my guess is your harddrive or SSD is to slow as new content is loading in. so it takes a moment to process the constant changes. video memory might be maxed as well. stuttering is typically a hardware resource hitting its max and has to buffer making room.

if neither, then make sure your pc power is running on preferred maximum power. if that is already done wait for a game update.

Use the lossless scaling guide in the Guides section.
