Prestige - yay or nay?
How do you all feel about the prestige system?

I am not a huge fan of it, because not only are you forced to prestige so you can unlock higher tier skills, but that it always resets the character and messes with the gear each time is nay.

I rather have more meaningful and permanent skills and things to unlock with my exp than having to reset all the time.

Agreed - skill resets are bad. They should at least divide the skill tree in "unlocks" (rigs / weapons) and upgrades (weapon damage, health). From an RPG point of view this ruleset makes no sense whatsoever though. Your character getting better - but looses all his memory. :steambored:
Bad as is. Quite bad.

The prestige system is fine - your characters stats increase each prestige and 2K+ exp per match makes it easy to gain skills.

lot of farm. bad. If only perks were transferred from each prestige. Also, the amount of xp you need is enormous 💀

I'm struggling to see the point of prestige, aim is terrible in the game and requires the upgrades to make it good. So' i'm gonna need to prestige 40ish, just to get the aim benefits. prestige what 200 to get 2 trees filled, it will be over 9000 (according to the scanner, pun intended) to get all trees.

wouldn't be as ♥♥♥♥♥♥ if rigs weren't tied to skill trees.
resetting is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nightmare if you're tryna actually carry ♥♥♥♥ in game

That only applies to certain characters, if you main thing is carrying ♥♥♥♥, then you should pick bagman, who can use any rig you want without needing any skills.

Now that I understand how the "prestige system" works. I'm okay with it. Its weird and awkward but you get enough XP as it is for missions that go by quickly. When you prestige it's also how you get more XP and your character movement gets faster.

Because of the constant skill reset that comes with it, I'm reminded that is still thankfully a shooter game more than a RPG game.

But being able to spend points, temporarily so to speak seems wasteful.
So i level up prestige, i get 2 levels of accuracy, add prestige, lose accuracy again and am completely incapable of shooting straight. gain xp get 3 levels again, not enough for level 3 but i can shoot straight again, reset.

Why do i get to shoot straight temporarily until i prestige up?

There has to be a better use of prestige, i just don't know what. I'm not saying remove it, but maybe use it for reload speed or clip size, or something that isn't tied to basic mechanics.

yes, kind of. Because you level up quickly when you shootin' em ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I think that's not that devs meant when they were releasing EA, but it is what it is

I think it's okay for the most part but is poorly explained. Many people don't realize that you can still spend exp while leveling prestige so they hoard it, and we have no way to know when or IF our selected character receives the "movement increase" that it mentions in the prestige tooltip.

With how it stands, wouldn't it just make more sense to combine both of the leveling systems? Prestige 1 you unlock an accuracy bonus for a weapon, prestige 2 you can use a special rig, etc etc. Right now it's kinda annoying having to constantly go back and redistribute my exp for abilities every time I prestige, as well as constantly having to change my rig as Old Man because of it.

I am more prestige farming than skill farming, because prestige here works kind of like a level system so the benefits of higher prestige outweigh the benefits of skills

I still Don't see why upgrades apply to base mechanics, give reload speed, or clip size, or something other than what we lose/gain per character.
