The Mule
Getting peoples thoughts on this hireling. So far this thing is about as useful as a moldy potato. Every time im crouched and hidden. It walks out and says HI GUYZ to the closest squad and gets speed merced. Is there a control command im missing or something?

Even so, it's clunky, it's slow, it's potentially filled with goodies, and it's a large-ass target that screams "I'm going to do some (non-government sponsored) surgery on your innards."
Any soldier would gladly choose this mule as target practice!

The mule sucks. I'm sorry, it just does. Every time I've used it, it either gets stuck or wanders off and gets shot. Or it gets stuck until hunter killers find and blast it. The B command isn't precise, it sets an area the Mule should be but it won't hide or take cover, so enemies can and will find and destroy it just by wandering around. The best case scenario for this thing is leaving it in a dumpster and dropping off loot for it before going to get more, and the game doesn't usually allow you to do that because of hunter killers.

The best thing I can say about the Mule is that it's cheap. Now, if enemies ignored it, it might be okay as a temporary backpack, but otherwise it just isn't worth the trouble.

We've been using it to distract large squads. Be kinda cool if we could rig it to explode.

Shows you what the game was designed for running and gunning everything down cause that's all the hirelings do and the mule requires it to be used.

So far the only place I can see it being useful is the scrapyard and that’s if you intend on hiring backup or go in with friends to try to clear out some of the squads in there to farm loot.

It would be cool if you could make it dig into the ground and hide under it, leave it somewhere and come back to it.

The last time I used it, when I transferred items over (this worked on a previous run) the good just fell straight to the floor.

Yeah, my mule won't accept any items either. Just drops everything I give it.

The mule sounds cool on paper. But in the game's current state, I don't see the point of it.
It most likely ends up being killed or getting you killed.

When mule works, it's nice. Key words there, when it works. At this point I only use it on Scrap Nexus, since it can sit on extract like a mobile box.:raven:

If this happens again (happens to me all the time), just set your display mode to Windowed, and switch back after you're done transferring.
