Water question to players?
Edit 3:
we played for 4 hours and i made it out with 0 water only getting the one from the first quest haha.
Clearly it's not a given so need a bit more learning.
Guess i will find out next week what happens when you run out.

Edit 2:
This has gone off topic too much to water mechanics discussion.
I'm unsubscribing as i don't see a way to lock.
Thanks to everyone who weighed in on the water gain stats

Is getting 7 days of water in 4 hours sounding viable to the people playing?
Probably not going to be able to do more than that each week.

Edit question: Does playing in co-op dilute the water pickup amount?
Is it shared if one person gets out?

Edit:
Thanks to everyone who is contributing your all wonderful people!

I want to add some light rules just to try and help
1. No need to post in depth strategies part of this will be exploration and experience.
I will say i appreciate the people doing this as it comes from a place of wishing to help

2. No need to discuss the water mechanic itself, i have my thoughts on it but am holding back in this discussion and trying it as the devs envisioned

3. if you have some game play numbers of water made per hour that would be cool to hear (preferably from natural play not grinding for it)

Edit 2:
Stats
Killermajaro: 7/h (possible optimal strat)
holi_shet: ~21/h (farming location)
Vanta: ~4.6/h (Sounds like general play /w quests)
Mike Oxlong: 7.5/h ("zero effort" /w quests)
Robzilla: 5.5/h

Thanks for that, that is a relief. Was a bit worried about limited time.

On the first map after the tutorial, Scorching graveyard or something, there is a locked door really close to spawn (basically straight ahead from spawn) and i've had 4 water containers spawn in there (on average 1) To open it you just have to match the symbols and you can close it from inside to protect from patrols/mechs.

Thanks for the hints but don't worry about that. We may not hit the deadline each week but the fun will be in exploring and figuring it out.

Please no need for stratagems to get water, only need confirmation that it is possible.

also you can repeatably do the tutorial mission if you want which you can grab the extra water in it.. but honestly thats just useful if your really incapable of getting it otherwise.

I only play games once every couple of weeks (sometimes further apart if on holiday etc), so is this going to be a realistic purchase for me? Even then, it's only maybe for 3 or 4 hours at the most.

My problem with the water mechanic is still the downsight, that if you dont play for a certain amount of time, you lose.
You are forced to play it.
Games as a service which arent forcing you via a battlepass but with real loss of inventory if you dont plays seems to be the next step.

If this gets too much attention, others could implement similar mechanics into their monetization schemes. With the option of just subscribing to keep the stress away of course.

I have thoughts on the water system but will hold my tongue until i have actually played.

Based on the above you should be able to get 21 days in 3 hours and 28 days in 4.
Anyone playing who can confirm this being a fair average would be cool.

there is scrap yard map always spawns a water location 1 min afar from spawn location and to extracte u have to come back so i it will maximum takes ur 3-4 mins top. lets see 4x7=28 mins and u cover 7 days of water

I gotten 16 days of water in 3 hours so not that bad, the water spawn points are tied to the entry locations on the map so once you know where 1 spawns you can generally keep going to that spot over and over to obtain more

Why even have this mechanic then. This utterly makes my head spin. Why are we putting farming requirements like this is some gacha live service game in singleplayer/co-op p2p game.

I partake in many things that doesn't real, I don't need to have the game kneecap my gear because I will decide to spend a month or so playing Monster Hunter next year, or because I'm busy with my career and life that I don't have time to check if my water is topped off or if I need to go do my daily grinds. Tying material grinds to immersion is definitely a take.

I agree this is my concern as well so more people to just say what they are getting casually would be awesome
