water whingers be whinging
from what i can tell the water mechanic sounds dope. one of my favorite parts of State of Decay was stockpiling supplies that your community used while you were offline, causing them to prosper or fall into chaos if you were gone for too long. 4th wall mechanics like that, in my opinion, only add to the attachment of your community.

Now that’s assuming you arent required to play every 1-2 days to keep the community alive. That’d be a bit much, but from what i can tell water isnt hard to get and can be stockpiled well enough.

People whining about the mechanic sound like they were either going to play the game for under 10 hours and drop it for a while, or play continuously for tens of hours until they were satisfied. In both cases the water doesnt cause any issues other than psychological ones: if you were only gonna play the game for a little and drop it, the game is obviously going to receive massive updates and changes over time, which will likely result in a STASH RESET ANYWAY! And if youre hardcore and want to play the game a lot, just stockpile the water and check in when small updates come out, likely every few weeks.

I really dont see the issues. Am i coping? The game looks sick and i enjoy indie extract shooters like Quasimorph, and a dependency mechanic like the water system, which isnt even finalized, sounds like a cool addition to add background tension to the game. Lose the gear fear guys and enjoy the immersion instead!!!

You ain't coping. It's not hard. It's not even challenging. People are just whiny cause they can't handle a game that challenges them even a bit.

People said, "Don't like it, don't buy it" in regards to "Concord".
The game flopped, nobody bought it, the cost was 400 000 000$

By all means keep preaching this same attitude and this game can die too.

Idk what game you played but SoD was miles better than SoD2. They casualized it on release and if it wasnt a Microsoft owned title, it wouldn’t have lived for as long as it did.

The mental leaps to compare an uninspired, $40 hero shooter live service game (oversaturated genre with incredibly strong competition), made by a multi billion dollar company to an indie extraction hardcore EA title is insane.

Fair enough. I just don't like being forced to play a game regular. I also due to mental health issue find myself suddenly not wanting to play games for months. So it would be nice to just be able to close it down and not think about it.

Its fine though if the devs feel strongly about this mechanic they should go forward with it.

Sometimes the art has to come first and has to be made how the artist wants it made. Its important that they at least push through the vision as fully as possible. They are made up of folk who wanted to make a game that they would not be able to make at a big AAA studio. So while i dont' like the mechanic (and yeah it might not be that bad) i don't think the devs should listen to me on anyone really complaining about it just yet.

Let it play out for a while and see how folk fare. This might different to what i said on another thread but ive had all day to think about it. One of the things that attracted me to this game in the first place was the artistic direction. The whole idea of being the little dude and not the hero. Just some scabber trying to get by. Folk don't make games like this very often so after thinking all day i'd say ignore us water moaners for now haha. Besides somebody will probably mod it out if they feel strongly about it.

How come tarkov is so big then? The insurance system is built upon recurring playtime. Not to mention the wipe system, where if you dont play on wipe week/month you’ll be leagues behind.

Tbf in a singleplayer game it’s a different story and im not opposed to a baby difficulty mode, but it’s EA, it’s the devs vision. Idk how the solution is to casualize the game by ripping out the feature entirely. If it isnt immersive then you should probably play something else.

Tarkov is about to die. It's estimated that more than 50% of the playerbase is using aimbot, wallhacks and various other cheats.

i think my point flew over your head. entirely different genres, entirely different situation. this is a mechanic vs market oversaturation. you make no sense.
