The Forever Winter

Lack of map size / too crowded to stealth it as the game intended it.
I know the game is meant to be hard, for sure. I've enjoyed my first four rounds of the game. And i've noticed that the maps are awfully small, and VERY crowded. With barely seconds to think.

(Lets not mention enemies spawning literally on top of me which almost game ended me like already twice, once with zombies spawning ONTOP of me, and another with trenches where a squad of troops spawned ontop of me.)

It'd be neat for maps to be a whole lot larger and perhaps a little less crowded so we can actually tactically think and make decisions. Right now i can't really do much but sit back until some hunters pop up and follow me to the exact point and hitscan me.

Yep.. I've played 3 rounds so far and will agree. the enemies magically spawning in in-front of you as your running is annoying af too. also, the A.I is as bad as I thought. they REALLY need to do something about it. It's like they cobbled together something and said, "Eh.. that'll do."

I know it's Early Access but the A.I isn't even in an early access state. it's early alpha. when I think of an early access game, I think of it as an early to mid beta when it comes to ALL of its components that is available.

I'm still going to continue playing this game but if I die to some BS, then oof... that'll be that for me since there will be other games to play before they fix it.

you do know that it was released earlier than they had previously wanted to due to public demand so it makes sense that it isn't in even a slightly polished state

They're still the ones who chose to release it in early access. the "fans" didn't force their hand. They could've said "it's definitely not close to ready yet", but they chose to release something completely unplayable.

To get back to the matter at hand in this thread,
i fully agree, the maps should be around the size of a helldiver map, imo.
now i know that is pretty big compared to the size they are right now, but you need some void between strongpoints, you need to encourage the player to look for stuff and take risks to get said recources.
This will also help with the feel of the world, since the players can see and experiance the vast destructian of the world. And imagine a large scale fight were there are enormouse armys fighting. Thats something that would be truely epic!

The problem isn't the map size. You aren't doing stealth wrong, it's that stealth is impossible when spawns drop ontop of you and patrols magically path to wherever you're hiding.
running around quickly is the best way to play currently once i realized enemy aggression is radius based i have survived pretty much every run

stealth doesnt truly exist right now

This. I just run as much as i can. Can't explore. No respite or somewhere to at least gather my thoughts. It still is a map issue, due to little view or sight.

Pretty much this.

Just in case people are unaware. You can goto Regions > Select another map.

The Trench map is pretty cool, the Ashen Mesa has slightly harder difficulty, and the scrapyard is hell manifested.

I think scorched is meant to respect the time of a scav who has little to no time playing but still wants to get some rounds in.

Oh we know, we're just talking about how SMALL they are lele. They are nowhere big, the trench is the biggest.
