Needs to be more open world.
The deploy drops game layout is getting a little too familiar lately. It easily ends up in the same grind and easily takes you away from immersion. A game like this should invite to immerse. And yet. The linear paths you are appointed towards that leads to enemies and fights does anything but let you immerse your self. Going into this i thought i would be even more weak than what you are in the beginning. I didn't even think you'd have weapons as a starter. I expected more sneaking and less confrontation in the beginning.

I personally think this game would have benefitet from being open world rather than a deploy drop system.

Go play something else then lol?

Do you seriously think they are gonna change the core game at this point?

That's not how game development works.

I think they might have taken a very social-media strategy of making the game appear as beautiful as possible secondhand when it's streamed. This brings together common complaints of it being (too) unoptimized (even for early access), and there being only first-person view when aiming.

An open world would have necessitated both optimization and a certain amount of modification of UE5. Of course it's early access and they might go in that direction in future, but probably it would be an expensive direction demanding specialist skillsets.

there isnt only FPV when aim though.... you press alt and you can brace fire with an over the shoulder PoV

Yeah, i was hoping for big landscape to explore with warfare here and there. Like in a MMORPG. Where you could play hide & seek to find your way into the game.

Instead, we got warfare only around you. If you are not there, there is nothing happening. And tiny map with a bunch of point of interest (maybe 3 or 5 big max).

Honestly, agreed with OP. Was hoping for bigger maps, with more fun stuff going on. Elephant is a solid example of what I'd like. But need bigger battles outside of the one tiny area where it happens.

That and you end up just shooting your way through the game. Only times I die now are particularly rare, and due to really bad luck, like a stray mech shot, or suddenly surrounded and everything targets me for whatever reason (And still often make it out of those). I play as Shaman, and still mow down any enemies that look at me. Just avoid pissing off mechs.
Only half the maps are in the game right now. And Mech Trenches will likely be revamped as well. Some maps are smaller and others larger. Scrapyard Nexus seems pretty small to me, while Elephant Mausoleum is much more expansive, surely the new ones will follow this trend.

There are way too small in my taste. Even when they will be revamped.

How would the open world change what you said?

Wouldnt the open world be with similar paths you use on and on over time?

As someone said, they cant change that now anyways ...

so you want your PC to die rather than enjoying the magic behind the scenes?

Can't say I disagree with the OP.

I disagree there needs to be more enemies on all the maps so if you mess up you get punished hard. Maps could be larger sure but if they are I'd like to see tons of enemies. I didn't sign up for a walking simulator.

I'm not sayinig they should change it completely. Surely there is room for open world in the game as well as deploy round game system.

But at that point it's pretty much just warframe. except you aren't a ninja in space.

This exactly. This is what the game come off as in the advertisement for it. And the stradegy of advertising it as such while having a free demo available dosn't match up. So i don't even think the team consideres how many people they are putting off when it looks open world but turns out not to be. Unless it's their plan to implement open world in it some time later down the road.

The idea is of course having enemies where the really valuable scrap/loot is.

If you run a potato PC, that's your problem.
