The Forever Winter

Why prestige Old Man when it's easier to character switch?
I have Old Man at prestige 7 going on 8, and after sinking all this time and experience into Old Man, I started thinking... why am I doing this, when I can simply character switch to someone else, like scav girl and run like a race horse in Hidalgo?

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0317648/

It's like... I'm prestiging a character, the character has all of his abilities reset, I'm not seeing any benefits to prestiging, so why am I doing this?

I joined a group that died on a run, the leader asked me to switch to scav girl because we were running across the Ashen Mesa bunker battlefield.

Scav Girl runs soooooo fast like Holy Moses... why am I even using Old Man in the first place?

Also even in its current form permanent hp increases and movement speed increases are very useful.

Because he has perks and abilities Scav Girl doesn't?

The benefits to prestiging is a higher XP cap which let's you get further into the perk tree each time. You also get flat stat boosts.

Scav Girl also has one of the slowest walking speeds afaik btw.

Oh so Prestige 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 gets you access to levels 1,2,3,4,5 of the skills?

Scav Girl doesn't need to walk when she takes a Concord everywhere.

When you hit the XP cap, you can't earn more XP on that character so you have to prestige if you want more perks than what that XP cap allows.

Bro, why are you linking the wiki for the Concorde? Are you alright lol?

Some people might not know what it is. Some people can't afford to leave the country. Some people never flew on a plane before. Some people live in third world countries.

Besides Concord was the name of a game that was released recently and failed. I never played it, so I don't know much about it. I think it was a console only game.

As you increase your Prestige level, you increase the characters health and speed, not just their skills/EXP. A max Prestige character is essentially when training that character results in them reaching peak form, the fastest and healthiest they can possibly be.

Each character is limited to the type of guns that they have access too. Perhaps more importantly, some characters are locked out of using specific rigs.

Different characters have different playstyles, it's a case of figuring out how you want to play the game. At a deeper level, people with character mastery can character-switch, depending on the map, or quest that they are on.

Around level 11, Old Man has about 1,400 hit points, which gives him some sustain, since his leg is broken.

yeah old man builds HP really nice, and his hp regen upgrades are really good as you're learning the maps
I recommend Mask Man or Bag Man purely because they are the only ones that can use the 6 round grenade launcher. Both of them can also use a lot of the better rigs by default (Medium Equip Gunrunner, Pack Mule, The Rack, Heavy Container Gunrunner. Old Man is nice with his healing and rifle skills but heavy rifles just seem worse compared to grenade launchers, just my opinion.

That would make the game a one build design if everyone took the grenade launcher. But whatever its your game.

It reminds of vault 76 and everyone using bloodied builds it renders all other play styles void if one is op over all the others...and please dont use shotguns as a crutch to show a difference.

For kill missions (Commander, Pyro, Exo's, etc..) there isn't really a better option. That's just the meta as of now and I do hope they make heavy rifles viable but right now it takes too much ammo to kill something big and by the time you do you are swarmed. GL make quick work of whatever and you can get out quick after.

Now personally I love playing as Old Man and Shaman but for straight murder missions there is more optimal picks.

old man has decent speed and decent life base and they get really good pretty much old mans life doubles ! and he can carry a lot of rigs after you xp em not to mention +25% healing on the big medkit with the almost 2k life pool and you can sustain a lot of punishment before you die , while your rpk delivers the punishment!

I don't understand why people like the RPK, the fire rate just seems so slow compared to the AK. Somebody gave me 4xRPK and 4xAA guns when I was new to the game. I gave away all the RPKs and kept the AAs.
