Scav mule and other allys - How to activate?

I just brought the Scav mule and some other stuff But idk how i can activate those? I know they are buggy at some points. But i want to give it a shot.

You have to add them to your party in the ready room screen; it's the box all the way to the right.

For future reference, I cannot recommend getting three of the "old man recruit with SAW" for the luls. Turns this stealth game into a music video for Free Bird.

3 'old man with saw' and this does become extremely comical. if you can not take it too seriously, you can have a lot of fun with the companions until they see fit to equip one with a silencer. ;p

Are the NPC companions useful? I only ever tried the expensive guy with the RPK, and he died instantly to a squad of Europans.

region Scrap Yard nexus, get fire support 2 of them, get them on top of the platform told them to hold position. 1 is the scav mule, again tell it to go hide somewhere on the back, the scav mule can't climb.

Then drop the turret on the high ground, then activate the extract, as the timer starts to count down, the cyborgs melee type will come rushing in, shoot them, and maybe a few drones will come by.

Shoot and loot, drop it by the scav mule, repeat till you can extract, then climb up to extract point and extract, Profits.. and that is an example of how you use the NPCs in the game with higher probability of success.
