yes you can, and most likely 100% of the time. thats if you decide to not join a random coop game or if you dont have friends to play with

Just don't go into the Scrapyard Nexus map without at least some AI Hirelings (there's a vendor for them, they're not even expensive). Right now that map has only one extraction point, and it's timed. Basically a Wave Defense to leave.

Every other map? Tricky, certainly, but all very true-solo-able.

I'd say it's preferred. Any kind of co-op dilutes the game's not exactly big difficulty (as soon as you get used to maps/ai/spawnpoints).

Yes, definitely. Just take your time and make yourself familiar with local AI logic.

Think it actually scales higher with others so it’s best to learn the game solo. It’s very possible as that’s how I’ve been mostly playing it.

Also 20mm turrets save them for when you have to timed extract. You can also drop the explosives that you pickup in missions and shoot them and use IED's.

Take usas or aa12, hell even s12 if you are good and you are save and you can stealth extract if you want aswell. Just activate timmer, then climb on the box to the right of extract and wait there till timer is at 10 ... gg ;-)

(No need for hireling ... but need for heal items and ammo for sure xD)

For me its not about the money, you have so much money in this game, you dont need to worry about it. But i want to have the thrill of doing it solo. But it can ofc also be funny with hirelings, watching how they fight is fun sometimes. An hour ago, i watched europans an eurasians fighting each other on MT for a half our and when ever the other side was losing i help a bit with a silence m4 (could have been fun with a hireling aswell xD) ;-)

I’ve never used a hireling or turret on scrapyard nexus. I gun down most of the zombies as they come around the corner and then shotgun the dodgy ones that I miss. Only using a shotgun is a viable option, too, but it’s too easy to level them up so I try to give the rifles some love.

To answer OP, I only play solo. I’d say there’s a steep learning curve if you’re not good at FPS. If you’re really good at FPS games this is going to be a breeze.

I am not good at FPS, so I have to rely on developing pattern recognition, learning the maps, and getting a feel for the style of play that works for me. But absolutely it can be played solo. I’ve enjoyed the heck out of this game.

I've only been soloing and haven't really needed any ai backup yet, I'd recommend getting an svd as soon as you can because it's a great obstacle remover that I think every character can use
