The Forever Winter

Epic Games Requirement Not On Steam Page
You may have forgotten to put the Epic Games Requirement on the Steam Page as a listed warning.
Which is against steam's policy and if they notice, you're going to end up with either a penalty from steam or being delisted.

I suggest you fix this.

It's not a requirement but it is some superfluous grot :waifu:

If I want to play Multiplayer, it has to link to an Epic Games Account.

If I even want to start the game, it has to install Epic Games Framework.

That seems like a pretty clear cut requirement to me.

Does it? i'm pretty sure - at least in the demo - i just joined a friend by right clicking in my Steam Friends list simply selecting "join game" - no Epic involved....
I can't control your perceptions but unless things have changed overnight none of these things are a requirement to play, even multiplayer :104:

Correct, it does not.

I haven't had to link or create anything in order to play with others either. The right click join or inviting steam friends works just fine.

Not for me, is it available through epic games? It pulls up steam for me and then the game.

For example, I do have epic to play Fortnite with my son - it pulls it up everytime but not for Forever Winter.

The Epic Games Store is slipped in the backdoor if it's not already installed (possibly a contractual due to using UE5), TFW is available on the EGS, the Epic Games Framework stuff is required for error reporting, cross-store friend play and possibly other shenanigans, Steam (only) users can uninstall it all with no ill effects whatsoever. The added bumph is an annoyance but it's far from a requirement :waifu:

Oh I had no idea. I always close out of the EGS on startup and never seen it running in the background. Doesn't really make a difference to me either way (similar with the PSN requirements through steam).

You can uninstall it on first launch, and it never asks you to reinstall or link anything.

I've played co-op without it installed.

Yes, it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing to do. No, it isn't mandatory.
