In the beginning of the game, you tell me that you 100% understood the code when trying to find it. You tell me that that puzzle made any sense, because it completely didn't! You look me in the eye and tell me that you didn't need to look it up or just brute force it.

The puzzle definitely could be a tad bit more clear but after you find all the books it becomes easy to piece together what it means. I remember playing old mobile escape room puzzle games and compared to them this puzzle is miles easier.

...no it doesn't. You're given the numbers but there's still the issue of what ORDER they go in.

I understand that you didn't get it and looking at the achievements 60% of people either haven't gotten that far or didn't get it either but just because you didn't understand it doesn't mean it didn't make any sense if that was the case 99% of players wouldn't get the achievements acquired after correctly guessing the code.

I found all the books and couldn't figure out what the ♥♥♥♥ I was supposed to do. I scanned them, I went through the history. It's BS. I just looked up the answer. I hope the puzzles are not at all like the first one.

yeah this puzzle was absolute bs, never had an issue with anything in the original game.

even watched a few streamers play through this and ALL of them were backseated into the answer.

I spend 30 minutes last night trying to figure it out for my son, who did the first game without any help, and i couldn't make any sense of it. after writing it all down I think I've finally worked it out, But won't know for sure until he comes home from school, so we can do it together. the information for it is not clear at all.

Didn't look it up, took me about an hour to work it out, spent too long trying to align the numbers to dates. Came back this morning and did it in about 10 mins after deciding the dates were bait.
So starting point. We have a 4 digit lock and 5 books. (assuming you found all the books by doing the achievement for find all books in the library). Note from Sofia states, 5th this week. So only checking out the last time a book was checked back in.
We know that the first digit has something to do with a JP and the last digit is 3, so scan the book with the 3, click on last person to check it out. Carl Emerson, they had "am the person..." check that book, CE / 1. So CE = Carl Emerson 1 is the number.
So we have _ _ 1 3.
Check "am the person...." That has Deli shovel as last person to check it out. Click on his books and the only other one that he read was the pineapple book. but we do have initials for Deli Shovel DS 0 in the book which doesn't scan. So possible 0 but lets check pineapple first.
Pineapple book has Johnathan Pratt as last person to take that out. we know that JP is the space for the first number, so JP = 5
Which means that DS = 0 is correct for second spot.
5 0 1 3 final code.

Yes, you right. When I played the demo version a few months ago, I was feeling that books puzzle really challenging

I'm copying this from another one of my posts but this is my explanation (you start with the last digit given to you so now you just have to find the 3 that are remaining, one book gives you the initials and a location in the code so you look at what books he has checked out in the past but aren't currently checked out (because then you wouldn't have it) and you see he had checked out 2 books you go to the other book he checked out and it has a number so you learn what number goes in that first spot then that book tells you the next person's initials so you go to that guy and see what books he has and he checked out and you find the book that has a error when you scan it and also a number so you put that number in as the second digit and you end up with 3/4 digits from there you just scroll or look for the last digit in a book)
