They've undergone some 27,000 years of cybernetic and genetic augmentation/mutation to help them survive extended periods of travel in space, have suffered numerous mutations as a result of cosmic rays in their younger expanding years, and then there's a small amount of actual genetic drift in there (and, who knows, maybe also some alien DNA mixed in).
Their prospective re-art shows off that they are still vaguely human - but as a species have undergone some significant changes. It doesn't quite fit the art style of the game, but I feel it better describes them visually than my prior art: http://i.imgur.com/ohRngmX.png
I like post-humanism, but I was just wondering about the circumstance. I do think perhaps giving them that slightly more human look would better portray their origins.
Thanks for replying BTW.
We are human because we are genetically similar enough to breed with eachother. There isn't a whole lot of argument their.
I would say they are still human(clad) but not ♥♥♥♥ sapiens (species).
You can't be human but not be ♥♥♥♥ sapien.
