Hold Shift and Use mousewheel. The 1 and 2 keys change elevation or rotation as the UI shows in the lower right.

Shift 1 + mouse wheel = height.
Shift 2 + mouse wheel = rotation

mmmmm you know there is a tutorial when you play the game ? the game teaches you how to play, but sure if you do not try what the game tries to teach you there is no doubt you will run into that kind of issue.

I did the tutorial and it just gave a blank spot and the period.. which didn't work.. -_-
