can't finish first boss with simon (the one with the sparking rod)

I can't finish him, when he is flashing white, I am supposed to trigger a QTE by approching him, but it doesn't happen... If I hit him he regaines some health and I have to fight him again...

Grab him. Any boss that flashes white when your about to kill them need to be grabbed to finish.

Omg really. I keep hitting him and dying wow really now. I hope its as easy as it sounds, pissed me off that I didn't want to continue the game almost. Why don't they explain it

I cant get past birdhead.
Pressing the defult hold key RT on xbox 360 noting happens
or the other commads that go with the key are done.
Is this a input lag or a game glitch.

The game explains the shimmer grabbing in the VERY FIRST ACT (Prologue).
People you really didnt play gabriel and payed attention to the tooltips ? x_x
