Mirror of fate feels more like a classic castlevania in 2D but it is on 2.5 D,the characters are on 3D and the stages in 2D I think it is great and You play with some characters from classics castlevania as Simon,Alucard and Trevor. Epic boss battle, exploration and solve puzzes. The Main weapon for all is the whip but sub weapon and magic change with each character.LoS Ultimate is all in 3D,I think this game focus is action/battle I didn't play this yet to give a opinion.

I'm a bit confused about the chronology of the LoS games. According to wikipedia Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate is the sequel to Lords of Shadow 1 (which is called the Ultimate Edition on Steam)? But on the wiki page of Lords of Shadow 2 it says that it's a sequel to Lords of Shadow 1 as well XD

Technically it's not a sequel. It's the story of what happened between Los1 and 2. While it can seem like it's a literal part 2. It's more like a part 1.5. You don't play as Gabriel. You play as A Belmont who storms the castle. Then there's different perspectives. Honestly, In my opinion, I'd skip it. Mirror of fate doesn't bring much to the plot and feels too much like a handheld port. The length of Mirror of fate also feels like a port, compared to both Los1 and 2. You can go back and do all the collectables but you get a scene that's less than a minute long that doesn't add much for 100% completion of all maps.

It all depends on what you want out of a game. I'd say get and play LOS1 and 2 and you'll get a quick recap of mirror of fate within the first 20 minutes of LoS2. I own all 3 games and don't feel like I should have purchased Mirror of fate. As a metroidvania it didn't scratch that Symphony of the Night itch i've been having for a few years now.

Ah I see. So basically the chronological order is LoS - Ultimate Edition, LoS - Mirror of Fate, LoS 2, but you could skip Mirror of Fate since it doesn't add much to the story and is a relatively mediocre game. Thanks for clearing that up!

Well after all that,I have heared Mirror of fate is a bridge between Lords os shadow 1 and 2. I am playing it now and mirror of fate has a solid gameplay and i think it is a great game and it is not Mediocre.Maybe him didn't try and play the game as me.And I like Metroidvania games as Strider,Odallus the Dark Call and others. The Question is if you like 3D or 2.5D?I like both becouse the diffences made the game uniques.I will try ultimate later when i finish Mirror of Fate,I downloaded this fist becouse is lighter and i didn't known that LoS ultimate is the fist in the story but Mirror of Fate tell about it as well and I am understanting the history.
