Connecting to Multiplayer Internet Servers
I'm in a bit of a pickle. So previously, I was able to connect to servers just fine. Recently, however, it always fails to connect.

I made sure ports 5555-5557 were forwarded. I made sure my firewall had an exception. I even tried to manually connect to the server by using F9 and typing connect ip address.

It's not limited to one server, I can't connect to any, even with the password. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game.

Any help would be appreciated, because I also need this to test a mod.

Posting in General Discussion to get more results.

I don't know if the following log will help, considering I've tried running it in compat-mode with XP SP3, have completely removed any traces of the game, including in the registry before reinstalling, have run it in several different modes and options, even disabled firewall. I have no idea why this game no longer works where it did before. It's clear to me I did something to make it work before, and have completely forgotten what it was. It was working until I started messing with the game's files, but a total uninstall and clean install should have corrected that. Every aspect of the game is playable except multiplayer on internet. Does not matter what server I try to connect to, it will not work.

I've even tried running it through a VMware.

I'm completely lost here.

No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. - The host has not opened exceptions in their firewall for the ports/service or hasn't opened ports for their router.

I thought that was the case, as well. But then one of the hosts I'm trying to connect to had players on her server. It seems I'm the exception... Bah, giving up for now.
