Superpower economy bugs still active?
Years ago, I had this on disk, and SP2 had a faulty trade system in which all economies eventually went into massive inflation and deficits no matter how well you managed. (In a nutshell, dont remember the details.)

There was much discussion about it on web, and how it wasn't possible to completely patch or mod out except to delay it.

Are these issues still active in steam edition?

I just realized I had this game, don't want to bother with it if I get into it again and can only play so long before bug becomes active.

Can't recall these past few years (since the Steam release) of your mentioned behaviors. One 'bug' that could be the reason for the massive late game deficits, could of course be autarky (which isn't really a bug, but a by-product of the simulator or design flaw, there is no faulty code behind it). In which case you should look into "USM & HDM" which makes it so that if your budget and taxes are all good, your consumption will continuously increase, thus the demand should in theory always exceed the supply.

In the case of autarky, the only acceptable 'fix' is to delay it in my opinion. Which USM tries to do. It does so very elegantly too, if you ask me.

USM:

Just note that you will have to switch up your 'philosophy' when working with budgets, taxes, and interest levels in USM. If you go in with the average base SP2 strategies, you'll collapse your economy.

You should check out the SP2 Discord server if you want to keep in touch with the community! :)
We have developers in there, so you can write any suggestions for future games.

As for any fixes to the base SP2's simulator; there's essentially been none as far as I know by the developers. There's was an attempt to incorporate MultiMod into base SP2 with the Steam release, but it appears to be a very lazy implementation, and some of MM's key features don't work out of the box.

Yeah I'm having a hard time enjoying the game nowadays likewise... the only reason why I haven't gotten the world conquest achievement at this point, is because my saves always get stuck in a loop of crashes. The best (and possibly only) way to enjoy it is to play on a roleplay server locked to T3 speed (crash loops and whatnot seem to only occur 2050-2100> and it takes like 1-2 hours to reach 2020-2025 with T3.)
