2001++ Database Mod Steam Thread (V-1.6.0)
2001++ Database Modification Thread

  • For changes see the PDF (2001++ Changelog.pdf).
  • Included some .txt files for useful links, credits, etc.

I am open to suggestions for the database. Do note that the goal of this database is not necessarily accuracy and if a change makes the database not fun (for me) to play then most likely the suggestion will be declined.

2001++ has been updated (V-1.4.2). See the OP for a download link. See the changelog .PDF file in the download for changes.

1.4.2 includes an experimental file pertaining to unit gun and missile efficiency against other and similar unit types called "efficiency.dat" located in the military folder. I have modified this file to make air units less prone to getting killed by ground units (except air defense), and personnel harder to kill (but at the same time they do very little damage against non-infantry unit types). Overall combat takes longer to resolve in general.

If the changes to the efficiency.dat is undesired you can simply delete this file. The mod will work just fine without it.

The 2001++ EHE has also been updated to make the AI in developing countries a lot more prone to pass population control laws (to maximize birth rates). A lot of countries will open borders to immigration, close borders to emigration, ban contraceptives, abortion, etc.

DoesHDM_Polarityneed to be run with other mods and does it work better?

Hello.

Polarity should run on its own without any other mods. However yes it works best with 2001++ as this database has been tailored specifically for Polarity.

As a general rule any database mod that does not change poverty rates too extremely from the vanilla rates should do well and keep things balanced.

Hi, just discovered your mod and thought i would take it for a spin!

I am wanting to play with HDM as well as recommended, but the install read me states to install HDM AFTER 2001++ so that would overwrite the changes in that mod wouldn't it? (it replaces the hdm_historical_events.xml file amongst others).

Just to clarify, install 2001++, then HDM 11.3.1 overwriting all and both mods will work together?

I only ask as i had some confusion running HDM and USM together with Mr Mondays Mod some time back.
Also, i assume your mod is not compatible with MMM or USM?

This release was pretty much entirely worked on by the modder Cipher, who offered to work on the mod, huge thanks to him!

Hi! You did an awesome job. I really like this database. However, with HDM Ai always starts an absolute ♥♥♥♥-show with nuke on Taliban at the early beginning (I also play with civil war mode on). How can I prevent these events?

Could you update Ukraine a little bit? There are some things to improve:

1) The fleet near Crimea is landlocked to the Azov sea due to sp2 map bags. Could you place it a little southern (fixed in Realism 2016)?
2) 1 Destroyer (Slava class) which was presented in the fleet was never finished. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukrainian_cruiser_Ukraina. However, Ukraine was able to build it at that time in Mykolaiv. So, it should be available as a design.
3) Ukraine was able to build engines (now mostly modernize and repair) for helicopters Mi-2 and Mi8 both - transport and attack variants.

4) Ukraine was able to produce T-80UD in the 90s (a worse variant of t84 Oplot or its predecessor) for Pakistan (they should have a weapon agreement). Nead design.

Recommend to adjust the missile efficiency of the mobile launcher in the efficiency.dat file, and the missile efficiency is low due to the high gun efficiency, even though the GunFireRate in this unit is -1.
