Can't spend my free upgrades

So I have been playing this game for the free weekend and I plan to buy this game.
One thing I have issue with is a few times it has said I have unlocked a free attribute upgrade and in the screen where you upgrade attributes it shows I have them available but I can't apply them to any of the colums. It keeps telling me to spend gold coins and there is no other button to use these upgrades.

But it says clearly I have unlocked a free attribute upgrade :( I think this might be a broken part of the game.

At the start in mycarreer you can only upgrade your attributes a limited amount of times (60 or 70 i think) should you already have that much VC to spend, either from other game modes or from buying it. When you progress with your player (its related to the number of games played I think) you only unlock the possibility to upgrade further (up to 120). It is not a free upgrade, it just allows you to upgrade more, the upgrades still cost VC.

It just unlocks another usable upgrade, you still need the VC to buy the upgrade. On your upgrade attribute screen you can see @ the bottom how many upgrades you have available, you unlock them of them as you play.

It's supposed to keep people from just buying the VC and fully upgrading, they'll have to play some to unlock all the upgrades.

@ice... You say game is broken from start to finish... Since the patch the micro stutter is gone, this game is playable as long as you have descent system and internet. The problem is on your end, try updating ALL of your hardware/system/windows drivers. If that doesn't work, it may be time to update your PC.
