How do you dive for the ball?

It's either X or Y. 2K seems to switch them around and I just tend to mash on both lol.

I've bought each NBA 2K for the past 5 years and I still can't get it right.
What happened to the old days where they give you a huge instruction manual to learn from?

To DIVE/Hustle for balls and intercept passes, press the "steal" button. Sometimes, for diving, it might you require to run towards it while mashing it.
For balls on rims you can use the block/rebound button, but the steal-button works also for it, but is less reliable in this situation. I hope this answered your question.

It's not about the X, Y, B or A. You need to press the button you're making shots with. I really hate when people explaining the things by saying "Press X". Guys, everyone makes their own configurations, it can't be the same button. So once again, dive for the ball by running directly to it and pressing the button you're making shots and steals.
